Re: Triumph Bonneville - My New Ride in Dubai. EDIT - Now in Bangalore, India.

Wonderful to hear that your baby has finally got rolling on the Indian roads.

Yeah, the headlight issue is very much real. And funnily in India, nobody would point out if a superbike rider does not wear a helmet but the headlight is an absolutely unpardonable sin!! Incredible India. Anyway, while on the move its the headlight, and when you stop its the question of price and the evergreen....kitna dethi hai

On a naughty note, if somebody sees a Temp Regn plate on your bike, people will start discussions on the internet about Triumph's first sales in India!

Hi Haroon,

Hopefully the Eid Biriyani will be at your home in Bangalore and I can ride Bonnie to your home

You know what I got the "evergreen question" but to me from the most unexpected person. The Jt RTO or the ARTO of Yeshwanthpur. He had come down with the MVI to check on the bike. Only he asked me this question so far. I mumbled an answer in Gallon Parlance and that got him side tracked to determine howmany litters are there ina Gallon etc ... but I was saved

Best Regards & Ride Safe

Ram

just one question, that cool make shift cover of yours, where did you get that from? looks real neat. is it sturdy and a good guardian of the bonneville? and if possible share the pricing as well.

I did not understand the bit about "make shift" cover. Its ready made cover available in various sizes like large bike (like GS1200) Small Bike (like Bonne) and even 2 Bike cover etc

Its more to protect the bike from natural elements like rain, dust, snow etc rather than a "guardian" in true sense. For me the most important function it does is - prevent people from meddling with it/sitting on it etc whils its parked in the basement. Is locakble when fully covered. The bike is actuall parked wrong way (I was feeling too lazy to turn it around).

Its made by a company called Speedways. I picked it up in Dubai (2 x Wheelers). Cost aprox INR 20 K

Best Regards & Drive/Ride Safe

Where can I get one of these bike covers? This is very cool and a must for these kind of bikes.

Congrats! You've brought home a wonderful bike. Hopefully will see it in skin in the near future.

.......

So hopefully Bonnie should have her number by mid July 2013.

At the moment she is parked in basement, but now she is in her own eclosure.

WOW! A Bonneville <3
Congratulations on the bike sir! I'm so jealous of you now

One question though, Where did you source the bike's home from? It looks more like an igloo

Hi Mahesh,

Not yet !!! I will say I am in when Bonnie gets her new ID (Registration). As I mentioned Cover is more to keep the prying hands away than anything else.

Have sent you a PM

Best Regards & Ride Safe

Presume you can still order them over the net. But yes the shipment & Customs would really lay into you.

However Ram Sir does this hold good in our Indian Weather Conditions?

Its doing OK in Dubai, where the weather is more harsher. Its designed for European use as well, where things are quiet wetter as well. The Cover material is amost geotextile grade canvas.

They do have a website as in link below. Its heavy though about 15 kgs in all

http://www.speedwayshelters.com/

It comes flat packed in a Canvas Bag of about 120 cm x 60 cm x 10cm size. Take about 30 minutes max to assemble if doing it solo or with a helper it can be done in less than 15 minutes. Again tme taken depends on how you want to anchor it. It can either be anchored to a concrete floor or it can be anchored to the bike itself with chain and lock. The Cover itself is lockable

Best Regards & Ride Safe

Ram

Thanks Prithvi. From noises we are hearing from "knowledgible people" in India is that Triump India will go on operational mode from Sept - Oct 2013.

Hope it happens sooner than latter

Best Regards & Ride Safe
