Swapnil and others,

What's the plan if we go to Igatpuri? Any favourite food joint?
Any waterfalls or dam nearby where people can get wet if one desires?

Apologies. Some last moment thing has come up. So I'm not sure whether I'd be able to make it tomorrow.

Guess I will have to let it pass and catch up with you folks the next weekend or whenever Malshej is planned.

Just checked with Tolewade police station using the number ghodlur had posted. The route is still under repair and is not operative. So Malshej is definitely out of the question.

OK, here is what I suggest:

Drive: Mumbai to Bhandardhara

Route:
1) Mumbai to Igatpuri (via NH3) - 2 hrs
2) Igatpuri to Bhandardhara (via narrow but good district road) - 1 hr

Sights:

The Plan:
Start from Mumbai at 7:00 - 7:30.
We should reach Igatpuri by around 10:00 with halts. We can have breakfast at one of the many resorts like Manas Resorts.
After breakfast, convoy to Bhandardhara - start at around 11:30 and reach by around 12:30. Visit some of the tourist spots and then have lunch from there. I spoke to MTDC helpline and they confirmed that there would be lunch available. After lunch, drive back to Mumbai.

This is only my idea. In case we get late at any point we can cut the trip short to only visiting Igatpuri.

The Bikes (including me and a few Dukes) will be leaving Thane (Majiwada junction) at 6:30-7 am.

The cars can catch up with us on the way. The reason to leave early is to avoid the four-wheeler tyre spray on our faces due to wet roads. Hope this is not a problem.

Hello All,

Some important society meeting have came up suddenly (Our residential society has been served Structural Audit notice by BMC) & I will mostly have to pull-off from the meet tomorrow.

I sincerely regret the last minute cancellation. But I will surely join next drive to Malshej / Lonavala.

We're waiting after Dahisar check naka.
Currently 4 cars in the drive with one more joining at Thane.
Since there is noone else here right now we are moving to the Thane meeting point, where we are joining Superbee.

If you're reading this and are on the way somewhere and wanting to join us, please come to Thane, the last flyover in Thane as mentioned in the first post of the thread.
