Re: 2013 Monsoon Drives

OK, so when and where is the next Monsoon drive?

Swapszone, how about this time we head towards Pune? To the Tamhini ghat? We could take the old NH4 (or e-Way and exit at Khalapur) and then drive down to Pali, continue on from there to Tamhini and Mulshi and then exit at the Pune end.

We are looking at a short one-day trip to Pune on 15 Aug, so if we could start real early and reach Pune by lunchtime, I would be able to join in.

Re: 2013 Monsoon Drives

Tamhini would be a good option since Malshej seems out of reach. Lets hear it from others.

After Satara, take a right and that ghat eventually connects you to Chiplun. I have used that once. Which one is that?

Re: 2013 Monsoon Drives

Have any of you guys tried out Bhatsa dam? I have been there twice already this monsoon and it is beautiful. It is also very close to Thane hardly 45 mins and not very crowded.

Let me share with you guys a few pictures of what i am talking about.

Don't mind that. Please post the Location via Google maps and Pics if possible, so that we can consider it.

Malshej can still be possible. So lets not rule it out yet!

This looks too close. But if we wanna do a short drive then it seems a good place to go.

Re: 2013 Monsoon Drives

Sometimes a short drive is also good, we cant expect to do longer trips everytime, we dont have a lot of choices in hand anyway.

My friend confirmed few minutes back that the landslide debris on the NH 222 has been removed. In fact the road had been cleared a month back. I guess the trip to Malshej is doable now. What say?

Sanjay/Swapnil (planning men) - can we plan this Sat or Sun?

I don't mind a zombie drive.

Coz going to Malshej does not make any sense now as there will be no rains. So no waterfalls.
More over it will be too hot. Rains are almost over.
