Never have been Independent on Independence Day. Working in a Financial Services sector always means sacrificing normal holidays. But we do get a comp-off for that particular day which we can take on some other day, so its not all bad. Wifey also in same sector so no issues for me. But i did go to dabhosa this weekend.

Just an idea, instead of meeting this Friday evening, we can also schedule a short / full day trip on Sunday (4th August 2013).

I just saw a post of Dhamini falls somewhere near Parsi Da Dhaba. I am not able to get the details of this place on internet, but the place looks promising.

Our Monsoon Drive to Igatpuri-Bhandardara was the First of the Monsoon Drives this year.

On the way we saw a Biker Group enjoying their ride, sticking together, following speed limits and hand gestures.


We also raced a Train


So we all do enjoy long drives, and you could see that on our face


Long open roads


Surrounded by greenery


But then some political party decides to send 51000 people to Shirdi Darshan in 1100 buses, and that made our joyride suffer a little.


But then we had Him to guide us.


and immediately we were on a detour, which was kind of a boon... stopped around for some pics


We let this train pass by


and we were again on our way


Back on the Highway, with open dry roads... still no sign of Rains.


The Curvy Roads on the Ghats, still no rain!


and then we saw some hope...


and we raced to it!

with some foggy conditions on the Highway.

Great drive you guys had there! I had fun reading about it and looking at the pictures. Long winding roads, greenery around and great company....what more could one ask for?

Hi Swapnil,

Awesome pics, Thanks for sharing. The pics of the waterfalls were worth the trip. Surprisingly why was the waterfall so dirty.

I hope the pic where you had you son on your lap was when the car was standstill and not while driving. If otherwise, I would term that as dangerous.

The driving becomes a nightmare in the foggy conditions and the fog lamps are totally ineffective in that Igatpuri ghat stretch.

Thanks for the concern guys... but I don't Drive around with my son on my lap. But he likes being at the Steering Wheel, and so the pic.

No Idea as to why the waterfall was so dirty, guess the red soil was the reason.

And Yup, there are 2 falls at Randha. EagleEye has capture the other smaller one in his TL.

The fog at the Ghats was really bad, the visibility almost "0". Had to be very careful there.

The alternate route that you took while at Kasara Ghat is the one that takes you right outside Manas if i am not mistaken.
