Pleasure mate! Being a newbie, even I am learning my ways on the forum. Would have loved to meet you in the Mega-meet. I felt the response from Pune was very subdued.

Pics part#2:

I switched to Swapnil's "Sparkling Brown" Honda City at the food-mall. We had announced that the next stop would be just after the first Lonavala exit. Here are some pics from that stretch:

Varun's City. The City had a detailing session and a tyre-change just a couple of days before, as if preparing for a date with Swapnil's City on the meet-day!

At the Lonavala exit, Swapnil pulled over and we directed all cars to take the exit and stop near Kamath's.

Varun's City was one of the first to reach. Did you notice the tinge of blue in the headlights? Yes, that also happened 2 days before the meet.

After all cars passed, we started from there and right after the exit we were awed by the LONG queue of stickered cars. We took a count. 21 cars!

It was 8am and we were already running half an hour behind schedule. So without wasting any more time, we started towards Pavna. Since many did not knew the exact route, it was decided that we drive in a convoy and vvb's City would lead (as he was part of the recce team). We started rolling again.

A few cars from Pune joined us after the Shivaji statue. I waved at Avinash (LP640), Pritam and Abhijitvp. A few more BHPians also joined in their rides. I remember seeing a red Cedia.

A interesting stretch of road cut through a rock.


The road was narrow and broken. Speeds dropped drastically and each one was just following the next stickered car. The local traffic must have been surprised by seeing such a large convoy.


A few kms later, we started seeing the Pavna lake on our right. I peeked into someone's private property.

A peaceful place. Next time may be.


A tractor that had blocked 3/4th of the road at one point.

8:45AM: Finally the parking lot in sight.


Nishant and Rohit had already parked their rides and were admiring the 520d being parked.

As soon as cars started getting parked, the cameras came out. A whole bunch of them.


Raj demonstrated "how to park like a BOSS". The Gypsy easily created a parking space for itself where there was nothing but rocks.

There was this guy selling candies or kulfi who entered the parking space just when the FFE show was on. And inspired by the exhaust notes he too rang his tiny bell a few times. He was quite shocked by the way.

Congrats for your new ride. We have a range of meets happening like Powai mini-meets, zombie drives, breakfast drives etc. It would be great if you would join in. Just follow this thread Link . You will get all the updates about any meet being planned

After everybody parked, we walked to the Pavna boat club. The place is amazingly calm and beautiful. Let the pictures do the talking.

Nilesh, those are awesome shots.
Loved the long-shots, have come out really well after the processing.

I seem to have missed the first round of the FFE show with 4 cars involved.

Pics Part #4:

The view of the Pavna lake from the boat-club was so enticing that most of us forgot that we were hungry (Notable exceptions: Rohit and self). In fact it took quite some effort by the coordinators to get people to join at the tables for breakfast. With the car count above 30 and people count pushing 60+, the turnout was significantly more than what we had anticipated. Varun (VVB8530) quickly spoke with the boat-club guys and then announced that in the interest of time the breakfast menu options would be limited to just 4-5 items.

A flight of stairs took us to the platform where there was some more seating closer to the lake and direct access to the lake.


Ducks were enjoying the cold water with just their feet in water.


May be Varun got inspired by the ducks and got his feet in water as well.


While Varun was enjoying the feel of clean cold water on his feet, Swapnil quipped "Is that a crocodile?". A second of silence and then the group burst out in laughter.

That's me who took inspiration from Varun and found a nice spot to unwind.

I was in good mood for splashing some water, but there were just too many DSLRs around (including mine).


Avinash (LP640) contemplating on the meaning of life? Nah, more likely day-dreaming about ripping a Lambo on the Autobahn


Kaushik (KSM_Vtec) and gang who were camping nearby joined in. Met them after a long time.


The egg-burjis and aloo-parathas took some time, but there were no complaints. The interesting conversations in those serene surroundings were fantastic.

As the food got served we moved to the platform and our erstwhile place was claimed by ducks, who seemed interested in sharing our food.

While a few like Ravi enjoyed clicking snaps...


... a few others enjoyed feeding the ducks.


Had a weird thought. If the duck has to drive a car, with those huge gaps between those 3 toes, they would be able to drive even a MT car with one foot. 3 pedals ..accelerator, brake, clutch and 3 toes. Never mind.
