9. Be clear in your post- confirm/decline/cancel

If you are expected to come (deleted) and you cannot - decline clearly.
If you have confirmed and for some unforeseen reason cannot make it, post it clearly ….but will make your intention clear and
make everyone else respect you more as a person.

Don't confirm and simply not show up, it is very annoying. Don't do it.

I was driving back from Kolkata and Titli caught me off guard a bit in the Palasa-Srikakulam stretch and got delayed.
