Zak & Ram were supposed to have worked out the total cost with a breakdown. The total cost was actually quite low when I last heard about them and they were negotiating with the estate where we stopover for the night to get a lower rate still.

Rates will be provided for overnight stay - not including meals during the day or booze. I think the rates are very economical, but will wait for the two of them to comment.

Zak/Ram - please update with rates so people can commit.

Okay we shall wait for Zak / Ram to report then.
Just for information only, whats the total kilometer we are going to cover up during the trip and how many hours on day 1 and day 2?

Hi,

> Vytilla - Muvattupuzha - Todupuzha - Topstation - Kulamavu -

In the route above, is Top Station the one which you go from Munnar also? If so, the last kilometre had hardly any road surface to mention. Once the rain starts, it is going to be worse still.

Monsoon DRIVE - Kochi-dsc00317r.jpg

This was taken at the place where the road changes from good to nil, but towards Munnar. It seems the bad part is in Tamil Nadu. Except for this, the remaining 31 kilometres were beautifully surfaced road.

Guys - mansidea will be joining us. A phone call from Dubai has caused him to reconsider his earlier position.

This is not even near our proposed route. Topstation I refer to is also known as Naadukaani.

Sorry, guys. Wrong info and a waste of space. If I could, I would have deleted the post.

Route map!

Ok, Let's try tracing our proposed route.

Monsoon DRIVE - Kochi-zak-map2.jpg

Remember, this is just for information and not something to be used to sharpen you geographical skills.
Download it and zoom in to see anything in detail. You can go to google and have a look at it too!

Rates are being finalised! Negotiations are still on while I type this.

I would tend to believe him.

I hope, we wont be on his route when he's flying to kuttikanam, we might have to re-open the rash driving-scorpio thread (just kidding manoj)

Hi ripper,

> @trrk- why dont you join us till kulamavu atleast if you cant make a 2 day
> trip?

After 25 years together, it is a tough job to get my home ministry permission for similar outings. She knows that I won't stray from my usual good behaviour, but the state of roads makes her anxious until I return.

On the 5th, there is a sixteenth day ceremony at Hosur that has to be attended from my side and that will add to the pressure.

I am not ruling out anything. The least I want to do is to see you off from Sarovaram!

Thanks.
