DJ sounds good if he will play 'our' music.

Cheers,
It is now confirmed by the publication of the SRs that the drag race is being conducted on that day. The venue is Ramoji Film city, Saturday will be the scrutiny and practice runs, the compulsory drivers briefing is scheduled for the evening. It will be next to impossible for people participating in the drag to make it to the jetty by 9.00 p.m. considering that they will leave the RFC around 8.00. Most guys will also want to work on their machines that night ironing out problems noticed in practice.

If the party was not on a boat, it would have been possible for people coming from RFC to join in late, this is not possible if the venue is a boat in the middle of the lake.

Since a drag race is being held after a long time, I would prefer to be at the drag strip.

I therefore might not make it to this meet. If you see me at the jetty by 9.00 p.m. (cash in hand), I am in, else I am out. I presume that Suren, Pulsar & Absynth too will be in the same position.

Have fun (I know I will).

Cheers,

Hi Ardy,

The SR is at http://speedwaymotorsports.in/

The Bangalore guys are thrilled with it as there have been no drag races anywhere for a very long time and are likely to turn up in good numbers. You really must run your RS.

Cheers,

Hey RR - why don't you join the gang in prepration and participating in the drag. Working on cars is a great feeling. This is topped off by the thrill of racing on race day, followed by a good dinner where tips and stories are exchanged.

Cheers,

Thanks, Ravveendrra.

Just downloaded the SR and the Entry Form. I am contemplating running the RS.

Let me know of your preparations and probably, I can join in for the preparations.

Guys sorry to hijack this thread, I'm in desperate mode to change my santro Xing XO's tyres. I'm planning to upsize it to 165/65 R13 - decided on Michelin XM1+ , I have 2 queries

1) upgrade or no upgrade , I will be driving down to Bangalore, won't be back for couple of months, is it suggested to upgrade the tyres and drive down or upgrade the tyres in Bangalore, the problem with upgrading in B'lore is 1 tyre is already conked.
2) Suggest a reliable place in Hyd for tyre upgrade and getting the alloys.

Check this section of the TBHP forums. There are a couple of recommendations there backed up by none other than mod Avi bhai.

Cannot agree more with you - that is why I have been pushing against this date, so that everyone can attend.

Drag racing or any motorsport for that matter, is all about people. "Just me & my machine" holds good only for long distance solo riding/driving. If the drag was in Airport or ORR it might not have been so difficult to get to the party on time but RFC on the notorious Vijayawada highway is another ball-game altogether.

If the speedboats used to ferry late-comers are still functioning that could be an option, another is to start a little later - say 10.00 p.m.

Cheers,

Since its OT, shouldnt be responding to your query. But, then once in a while, its alright

I used an XM1+ for my Viva for close to 25K kms and become a big fan.

a) Absolutely zero road noise
b) Increased FE. Literally
c) Better road grip

Just that it comes with a softer sidewall and some users complaint it may be an issue if you drive on too harsh roads. But, I drive fast and sometimes on bad roads. Not even had a puncture. I would recommend go for it and before you make that trip to Bangalore as your tyres seem to be on its last legs.

Ashoka Wheels at Minister Road or Wheels at Tadbund are good bet. You should get a 13" for around Rs.3600 or so, i think.

Hope that helps!

-------------------------------------

Alright back to topic. Ani, can you please publish the names of folks who paid up and ones who havent yet. People who havent, dont know why there is a need to remind you all so many times.

It's not easy to make such a big event happen without your support and cooperation. So, please pay up immediately

Cheers
Avi
