incase you are not aware, if you are planning for river rafting, you would need to start 5.30-ish from Pune.
Rafting starts at 9.30 after the water is released from Bhira dam and prior to that they have some pre-rafting session, I guess.

I remember reading somewhere that you need to be there by 8:45, but it could also have been some other place. I am not really sure, always better to verify beforehand.

I agree, we would be roasted in Kolad this time of year. Not sure if that could be compensated by lying in some mangroves during the afternoon if there are some enroute

Wow gautam, i guess yes it is becoming more of a pattern now..but actually i left the color choice to the home minister - My mother

Anyways...i will not be able to make it to May 8 drive as it is my grandmother's Barsi..so will be in bangalore with my relatives...
Mulshi is a good place and i have been there thrice...the backwaters are good as you drive towards Tamhini ghat...

beware of backwaters, we almost came close to being bitten by a snake when we were there, so be careful on the dry grass
another note...Plz carry ample fuel with you coz there is no petrol bunk on the whole stretch...there are small tapris who do sell petrol in "Black" but at a premium of around Rs 7

@Kevin - Starting a new thread for the next meet i think was debated when the Lavasa drive meet plan was in progress. But majority of the BHPians wanted to continue with this thread.

Kevin , let it be so , dosent make any difference . This thread has been started by MX 6 well before we started discussing it in late 2010 & 2011. Now MX6 has migrated to Mumbai but he has started a great thred & lets keep the as memory .

Also the word Tapri ( Tupri) means a road side tea stall ,this reminds me the days of leaving boyhood & joining the age of men , this represents kind of mental state of freedom with no strings attached .I have so many memories of my age of 16 to 20 where I could only afford a Tapri to join friends . Later On we moved to Lavish hotels but I still remember those days , Tapri days , I guess many including you must have gone through this phase , so lets keep the sprit going

We could meet at a real Tapri also. No issues as long as they serve good tea.

As it would be practically impossible for mods to go through each and every post the above request that you have made would go unnoticed.

In case we need any modifications to the thread title we would have to report the post by using the triangle symbol. That symbol has other uses as well for reporting any posts by users not abiding with T-BHP posting rules.
