I had a pretty sedate drive up and down the highway, thanks to a 36 hr break in sleep (and the 'fried clutch' I had earlier for breakfast)
The energy of the whole group was brilliant, specially evident during the drive with the front runners (A-Team??) and rest during the lunch stop.

most of the "A-Team" had modified cars except Avi (I think) but I was still able to keep up with my "stock" car. Ardy's car had fantastic power, Appu's had brilliant acceleration and Avi was able to maintain the top-end quite well.

Had it not been my daughter's birthday yesterday, I would have surely joined you guys. I could feel the adrenaline just by looking at the pics... I am sure it must have been awesome.

Congrats and look forward to such events in the future.. and hopefully the weather lends its helping hands too.

At only 14 posts old, I was arguably the youngest BCMTian in the meet. But the 'elders' (so to speak) made me feel right at home . My wife had a great time as well.

It was a little amusing to my wife what 'sedate drive' meant to BCMTians. Our man reddevil_appu proclaimed at the beginning of the drive that he was going to drive nice and easy. He touched 190. At least that is the speed he officially told us about.

Being in a Bolero, I maxed out at a steady 120. There were instances aided by a long stretch of no braking or a slope where the Bolero hit 130. The max I have pushed her has been 140. Not bad for a 1.6 ton beast with an engine that puts out a puny 63 PS of power.

I have attached a few images with this post. Usually I am quite trigger happy with my camera but I suppose the heat was simply too much this time. Special mention must be made of the rabbit. It is the best rabbit I ever had.

So that was the final headcount we actually saw yesterday !!!

Yesterday's drive meet was special in a way that it possible would qualify as the maiden drive on a "true" highway. Previous drive were mostly SH type of roads with lot of undulating roads which used to take the fun out of our drive meets to some extent.

However, anyone who's been on this route would know that it was bliss described in entirety. As Fordmanchau rightly observed it was slightly narrow than the Blore NH7 route but, nevertheless for most of us hungry for butter smooth roads, hydeez tbhpian's got themselves satiated for sure.

Started off at the usual HST and made our first pit stop just after the toll ( after paying Rs.130 for a return trip/car) and thereafter the drive got blisteringly fast and we stopped at Haritha Resort for getting our nerves back and then made a U-turn and headed to Meera Devi Dhaba just after the toll gate.

Quite decent food at the dhaba with free flowing of dishes like Chicken Roast, Pepper Chicken and Gobi Manchurian. However, the speciality of this place was the Rabbit ( which I obviously didnt eat) and was liked by whoever enjoyed this delicacy. Nice to meet the new hydeez members and hope they enjoyed the drive and "enthusiastic" nature of regular bhpians

Highlights of the drive meet :-

1. Ardy's monstrous 220bhp Skoda vRS moving so effortlessly at high speeds

2. Appu_Reddevil was lovely in his Baleno with his special set-up recording most of the drive meet.

3. Neel was a suprise of this meet and belting out the Fiesta S and was pretty flawless on curves.

4. It was a pleasure to watch a guy sweating like crazy in full biking gear on a green colored Ninja. His colorful bike and attire was like a pleasurable thumb out on that landscape. I am referring to Downsouth who came on his newly bought Kawasaki Ninja and seemed like he had the ride of his lifetime.

5. White Annihilator for 1st time touched 4K RPM on a couple of occasions. Perhaps, could be due to it's full load (4 people). But, it didnt even huff a bit in keeping the lead position from rest of pack of lovely drivers. And, a rough FE after keeping the type of speeds we kept is around 14kmpl+. Boy! Am I glad of my purchase decision

Entire drive saw the A-Team ( Avi, Ardy and Appu) lead the pack and it was fun to give company to other two A's

Overall, it was a nice drive meet with a decent turnout. Let's plan the next one late April or mid of May-2011. Ideas, Preferable dates and new destinations for next drive meet are always welcome on this thread.

P.S: Incidentally, had a second mini meet, Went directly to "SHOLAY" from the drive meet at around 6pm and spent the rest of the evening till almost 11pm along with Ravvs,his cousin and her pretty daughter.

Meet-2nd part, was like an ice'ing on cake to wind up a long and eventful day (even if the food was below average)

Hoi Guys !! Congrats for the gr8 drive meet. I had no choice but to miss the drive coz of the busy schedule due to change over in the Command at my base. Despite a 24/7 hectic work pace for the past few weeks,I did manage to sneak into the forum for Hydeez update and inspite of the temptations and the amazing experience of the first drive meet, was just not able to join the gang. Anyway as promised, the next drive meet could be to the AF base at Dundigal. Shall I say, a beautiful drive towards Narsapur followed by Lunch at the base camp. Cheers!

Awesome is an understatement. It was a very good drive rounded off by good food. It was a sight to behold when the Skoda just flew past me followed by Appu's baleno. It has been quite a while that we ventured out on this road and it was pure bliss.

Thank you all for the wonderful time together ripping our steeds.

Fantastic photos so far. Feeling nice to relive the excting moments of Sunday. And a special shout out to Arcot for taking care of the food arrangements and making sure everyone (including family members) was comfortable.
