WHAT!

Santosh, I hope you're joking! What if rockporiom, his family, friends get trapped in the car when it catches fire? What about the cars parked besides it? Neighbouring cars on the road and pedestrians? At the petrol station? He has already had enough of troubles and trauma with his previous dzire.

We can only advice him regarding his current situation and give our best wishes. Maruti/Suzuki knows he's a longtime loyal customer and should deal appropriately. They probably have an eye on this thread too.

About catching fire:
Just read an FB post about a new Thar catching fire and burning a zen too. The Thar was not even registered!
The starter motor jammed only once and has not jammed ever after that. But, the cranks do take longer and sometimes are very slow.

The IDV is 13 lakhs but I would not want the car to catch fire as my dad has lot of emotional attachment with that car as it is his first luxury car above 10 lakhs. The car for him is like in "dhamaal" movie Maaro deekro.

I don't think Maruti even cares about what has happened as I had written a strong mail to them asking them to contact me asap. They did call me only to tell me that the issue will be forwarded to regional office and in the end to the dealer. When I told them that I regret buying the car he has the audacity to tell me that "we have confidence in our product and this might be a one off issue" This happened about a month back when I mailed them for errors coming up.

re: A lemon, my defective Maruti Kizashi. EDIT: Fed up & SOLD

The car returned today from Kiran motors in a devastating state. The steering is now rattling much more than before and the clutch shudder has increased to an unacceptable limit. I have shooted a Mail to Maruti today regarding the same expecting reply by Saturday or latest by Monday.

The steering is in such a bad state now that the car goes straight only if the steering is tilted to the right and if the steering is in center the car moves to the left.

The car was delivered home as I couldn't go to pick it up. When the car came home I immediately tested it and found that the steering is drastically wrong I called up the Workshop manager and told him the same. He told me that I will have to wait till Tuesday for the territory service manager to return from Mt. Abu who has gone there for some meeting. He told me to keep the car as it may get scratches if it is kept in their dealership.

Further the workshop manager said that on checking voltage the maximum he got was 14.4 V which is within limits I made him talk to the FNG who also told that he got reading of 14.7 V at idle. But since the reading is not exceeding 14.4 V he is not ready to accept that there might be a problem with the alternator but he says it can be the starter motor.

Another major problem now is that within 7 days 3 visits have been registered in the DMS In total in 1 year 20 visits have been registered which is battering my cars resale value.

One thing is sure for if Maurti doesn't take a stand now this will definitely be my LAST maruti.

re: A lemon, my defective Maruti Kizashi. EDIT: Fed up & SOLD

rockporiom sell the car asap even when it was launched I told my dealer(had lots of fights against my swifts poor breaks with him) that why the hell someone will pick 20+ L car from Maruti? Better look for something from Toyota, Honda or even GM cruze is good VFM, don't expect serious action from Maruti they are here for business not for customers, I had enough with them and next car for sure I am not picking from Maruti. Picked Fiat Grand Punto in my home town and very happy the way its performing and it's built quality. Hope someone from Maruti is going through this thread that how they are loosing their customer base.

I didn't see the brand but just saw and felt the driving experience to select the car but now I think I made the biggest mistake of my life. I am already looking for buyers but can't show the car to anyone in its current state as the steering is in a horrific state.

re: A lemon, my defective Maruti Kizashi. EDIT: Fed up & SOLD

Please take the car to a competitive garage and get a quote from them.If cost is then reasonable fix the steering and sell the car off.Thats your last option. No point in waiting for Maruti now.Every single day your resale is going down.I know the car is very close to you and your family's heart but try and understand what if some critical component fails while you are with your family? What will you do then?

However I donot know if you will find spares of Kizashi outside Maruti A.S.S,may be they might be able to repair the current steering.

Could you list the other problems apart from the steering and sale date issue so that we could find wether repair is feasible outside.

Now the issue is going from bad to worse. I fail to understand what the dealer is thinking!

Lets wait at what Maruti has to reply.

That is bad as the manager is not confident on his staff and the way they handle cars be it a 4 lakh car or a 20 lakh one. If such statements can be heard by people sitting in such top positions then the people who actually work on the car would be mishandling it for sure. Absolute Shameful attitude by the dealer.

Steering system costs 1.25 lakhs; Alternator - 25-30K.

Getting parts outside MASS and the system getting repaired is a joke. The makers of the Kizashi (Maruti dealers) are itself clueless what an FNG would help out. There is another risk that if the car is taken at an FNG then Maruti would say they are not responsible for anything further on.

The list of problems in my car (NOTE all jobs can be covered under warranty)

1) steering rack - MASS price:1.15 lakhs
Outside: Rs.50,000 (reconditioned imported)

2) memory seat switch only - MASS price: Rs. 8000
Outside: NA

3)alternator regulator - MASS price: Rs.35,000
Outside:NA

4) Clutch - MASS price:NA (approx more than 50k)

Total bill would come to more than 2 lakhs with labor not at all feasible.

The clutch is not a cable one but is hydraulic unit. Individual parts cannot be ordered so the whole clutch assembly has to be ordered as one piece that's what one of the dealers told me. The import taxes don't help either.

Because it is Suzuki Kizashi! Just sold to us by Maruti Suzuki.

I don't think the car was localised fully to be having the parts cheap, hence parts are atrociously costly.

Did you try writing a mail to Suzuki contacts?Even Japanese?

My uncle was having issues in his new polo, some pipe burst on his long station trip & the dealer qouted around 20-30K for that.
He wrote a mail to the German officials, & you won't believe that within 24 hours, the dealer came to his home, towed away his car & fixed it free of cost.

I can feel your frustration. Do write a mail to Suzuki people and lets hope it works out well for you.

Tried doing that but couldn't find any mail ID of Suzuki Japan on their website plus it is difficult to read because it is in Japanese.

re: A lemon, my defective Maruti Kizashi. EDIT: Fed up & SOLD

Just received a reply from anytime Maurti that they have received my complaint and have provided me a complaint reference number. They state that the issue has been forwarded to the concerned department. Let's see what happens.
