I think the very light and shallow scratches can be covered but anything that catches a fingernail will show up

A simple paint brush and soap water can get rid of the powder stuff. Pressure washing may not work well, not advisable too as it's closer to the AC condenser.
I tried to get it cleaned during car wash, they also used some detergent from the spray bottle but the headlights didn't get clear. Earlier they were like new!

Also, what is your view on washing guys using pressure wash for condensers?

It's best to tell them, not to point the hose directly on the condenser/radiator/intercoolers as the fins get damaged a lot quicker than we expect. One solution I have seen some places they use a metal scale to break the force of the spray.

Re: All about car dent repair & painting - Processes, methods & tools

Some metro work guys spilt distemper /paint on my Thar at 5 AM on a weekend morning - I initially thought it was water but in 2 mins it was very clear what it was. I stopped the car and wiped the paint off the glass and bonnet ( it took some hand pressure ) and it came off alright. But The whole of the vehicle is covered with these micro spots now and I have been cleaning bit by bit slowly ( it still seems to go with wet cloth and hand pressure even after 4 days ) but to clean the hard top and the bumpers/fenders ( essentially the non-metal, not glass parts ) is beyond my means.

Any good reference of a detailer that can help remove these spots without dulling the factory gloss of the car? I also have some micro scratches on the bonnet thanks to the irresponsible cleaning guy - need to get those sorted too. I also have some bumper paint job to be done on my Creta - so looking to get all of this done together. Looking for a detailer in and around Whitefield - pls recommend based on your firsthand experience only.

Separately, who can I raise these grievance with? It's atrocious that someone can spill stuff on a car and not be accountable for all the pain and expenses we incur. Atleast 6-7 vehicles were affected that day.

take some diesel and liberally apply to all spots which has paint spots .. let it sit for a while and softly rub away with microfiber. Just re-apply this step if you find spots are still stubborn. Then pressure wash entire diesel away from using snow foam or soap. Rewax the paint after done.

Re: All about car dent repair & painting - Processes, methods & tools

Small query. My wife has started taking driving lessons in my car and now the car (Tiago orange edition) is covered in lots of scratches and dents (minor). My query is if I were to repaint the car fully, is there any type of paint wrap or coating (like ceramic coating) which would give protection against minor scratches and dents? (Wife intends to continue driving so further chance of dents )

Would recommend Tinkr in Shollingnallur. Very professional setup and meticulous at their work. I have personally used their services.

Hello respected members,
Can anyone suggest some good paint garages in nashik city?
I am looking to repaint my 2007 santro xing for some minor scratches and paint spots on one side of the car(numerous tiny paint dots due to a careless painter who was painting a wall).
If possible please share their address and contact details.
Thank you in advance.

Re: All about car dent repair & painting - Processes, methods & tools

Hi everyone,

I got my Brezza last year, it has some minor scratches on the left side (bumper + fender + door), and I'm looking to get them fixed. Additionally, I'm interested in having the interior cleaned up. Does anyone have any recommendations for reliable service providers in Gurgaon who can help me out? Also, kindly suggest the appropriate services for me plus an approx estimate of the cost involved? I'm still new to this, so I apologize if these are basic questions. Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: All about car dent repair & painting - Processes, methods & tools

Hello folks!!! Recently my Skoda Octavia mk4 was damaged by some negligent kids while the car was parked. The Dent is small but spoils the look of the otherwise spotless car. Also a tiny spot of paint has chipped off. Can someone suggest how to get it fixed; DIY or any denting expert in Mumbai/Thane? I want to avoid re-painting the entire panel for this small damage.

Hi,
Sorry for the damage on your Octavia, this is actually repairable by the process of Paintless Dent Repair in which the dent is pushed from the inside.
A simple search on YouTube would show you dents worse than this being removed. It’s literal magic how those people make dents undetectable.
The only problem is that, here we do not have any professional with enough experience or knowledge like those in England or the US.(most repair videos are from these two)
About the DIY route, it is best recommended to leave this kind of job to the professionals because if there’s too much force applied it could end up worsening the wound.
I’ve a similar ding on my Polo’s quarter panel, which is repairable but there’s no one here who could do it the proper way. So I’ve made peace with it hoping someday i would be able to get it fixed.
I would suggest you to leave it as is(i know it hurts every-time) and hope PDR industry grows here one day.

Regards

Re: All about car dent repair & painting - Processes, methods & tools

What are the different types OR quality of paints applied to different panels of the car.

For example, for a white metallic finished HONDA CITY, 4th gen, the paint in the "dicky" is like a mat finish silvery.

What is this paint? Can it be overcoated with any other type of paint?
I mean if regular PU paint be overcoated on it, will it bond whit this paint.?
How about the 3M underbody coating, will this bond with this paint?

Thank you in advance.

Re: All about car dent repair & painting - Processes, methods & tools

I have a 2006 Honda Exi and as you may have noticed, it has been revived with NGT up until 2026 now

Honda, as you all know is prone to rust which scavenges the body and corrodes it to such an extent - it looks that something may just fall apart.

However, I am not going to be dented by this situation and my plan is to completely rebuilt the car at peace or from pieces, whichever come early.

Now there is Brotomotiv - who's videos on YT make me drool just like Pimp My Ride on TV.

Let me know if you have or know of a proper reliable person / garage / FNG who can Pimp My Honda ideally in Mumbai who does not make me feel that buying a new car was a better option.

Like I said, I will make this car a 'classic rebuilt' in years to come and wanna start the spruce-up as much as possible even pushing new seats for better comfort (if fits in budget).

Sorry for the long post, but am looking for quality handlers in Mumbai and Thane.
