I know this reply now may not hold much relevance to the query for now. But for the benefit of reads here we go.
Firstly the quote provided by the Maruti is ok for the work they do and the paints used. However, do note that there are multiple ways of painting the car. Each of it will have varied cost. Type 1 - Low Cost FNG jobs. No panels removed, all dents typically filled up with a low cost body filler and putty, touch up primer (in majority cases it will be cheap 1K primer) and spraying color and clear coat. The color and clear coat too can be purchased at different price points based on the type of paint. Most cases when someone mentions 3 coats, a covering paint is typically sprayed (mostly aspa paints), then the standard color (based on the paint code) from a Class C paints. Clear coats are available from 300 per liter to 5000 per liter. You can by now guess what clear coats would be used. These types of jobs typically will cost between 20k to 30k Type 2 - Standard Paint Jobs. Basic panel removals will be done, standard quality body fillers and putty will be used post tinkering of the panels (wherever required). Again the primers, base coat and clear coat could be from Class C or a Class B type of paints. These types of jobs could cost anywhere between 45k to 60k. Type 3 - Premium Paint Jobs. Typically for an overcoat, the majority of the exterior panels will be removed like fenders, bumpers, doors, boot, etc. A thorough tinkering job followed by an epoxy primer coat. Body Filler and Putty work would follow post the Epoxy primer. High Solids or high build primer, followed by base coat and high solids clear coat.
Do keep in mind that paints can be bought very cheap and high quality ones cost you high as well. So you get a low quote, be rest assured you would get material from lower end of the spectrum only. Common compromising areas will be the welding method, using NC putty and NC/Duco paints for covering. All of these will definitely lower the life of the paint job.
Good labour does not come cheap either. True test of the paint job comes in after a year or so.
