Hi, I've been using Ceratec oil additive for 100k now every 50k and have been mighty content with the performance and with the improved smoothness that the Yeti has gained. I have not used the valve cleaner though but most of the Liqui moly products are phenomenal to use and help with better performance and improved protection. I have been using Liqui moly speedtec diesel additive on both my diesel cars and been more than satisfied with its performance. I've now moved to Mannol fuel additive after reading about their reviews and also found it to be economical to use on long run. Hope it helps, cheers

I have used LiquiMoly ceratec engine oil additive for Seltos D AT at 38k kms on odo. Didn't see any noticeable change, maybe Kia/Hyundai diesel is already very refined.

One more thing i understood from reviews was Ceratec works better when engine is new as it prevents micro abrasions. For older engines with lot of microabrasions LiquiMoly Mos2 work better.

I now prefer to change engine oil at 8-9k mark factoring in Indian conditions.

Hi,
What ratio are you using?
I started using it a 1ml/ltr but no effect for Seltos D AT 52k kms, then moved to 2ml/ltr and now its smoother.

Re: The Fuel Additives Thread

i use 2ml/ liter when starting, but was using 20 ml/ full tank (33l), but realised that wasn't too effective so have moved up to 1 ml per liter

Can you share the link for the System D? Is it available offline as well?

Re: The Fuel Additives Thread

Hi,

I have been using the service station recommended engine oil for my 2020 Ford EcoSport TDCi+ diesel. I want to switch to Shell Helix H8 5W30 and also try the Liqui Moly MoS2 Oil Additive along with the Super Diesel Additive.

Does it make sense to use the Liqui Moly additive(s) along with Shell Synthetic oil? Should I continue with the mineral oil that Ford service station uses, and just get the Liqui Moly additives?

Thanks,
Anand

I have been using the Shell Helix H8 5W30 right from the 2nd service. Its a fully synthetic oil and it really makes a difference in the smoothness and noise.

Any additives would be an overkill unless you are looking for something very specific.

Moreover additives are something which can be introduced later on as well so why dont you start with the fully synthetic oils first and if you feel something is missing then go the additive route also.

Oil additive on the TDCi will probably work for a 1000kms on fresh oil after you have added it. And it is not always you will feel a difference too. The better option would be to move to fully synthetic oil.
Fuel additive, from my experience of trying quite a few over the years, makes a difference , and not a huge difference, at the higher revs or on long trip where the engine has been running for a long time. This especially if you are using something like Cetane X or LM SpeedTec Diesel additive. The others I feel really don't make much of a difference in NVH.

@Artyom - Many thanks for your reply. When you say you have been using it, I assume it is an EcoSport...

Cheers!

Nope mine is a Creta 1st gen 5 years old.
The point I was trying to make is the stark difference you will feel once you move from mineral to Fully Synthetic Oil.

Haven't tried octane boosters, but can use LM injector cleaner once every 2000 KMs - using the same for Kodiaq 2.0 TSI - keeping the engine smooth & fit - feels like new.

Re: The Fuel Additives Thread

Hi BHPians, I have been following this thread for a long time and wanted to use diesel additive in my Ciaz diesel (DDiS). I ordered Liqui Moly super diesel additive 250ml from Amazon. Although from this thread I have understood that a complete bottle can be poured into the tank (45l). I did the same but now the average has considerably dropped. The engine also feels little sluggish but refined in terms of NVH.

Can someone please advise of this will be resolved on its own or is it normal behaviour? Sorry for being naive this is the first time I am using diesel additive.

It will improve, take it on the highway where you can pull it in each gear across the rev range. This will help clear the carbon.
Please also check the condition of your air filter.
