I called the HASS and they said that its about 12K and If I'm thinking of claiming insurance then i'll get 50% on glass and that'll bring it to 6K.
The insurance guys will approve only if the work is done at HASS.
thinking about the madness on my car, i think i'm getting a headache
I have the drive shaft to replace, the windscreen and a blinking oxygen sensor!
anybody have a spade?? lol

12k, its 7k maximum. I have checked in Linkway Honda. The sensor can be replaced cheaply if you want, apparently there are a couple of alternative chips in the market that are a fraction of the 16k Honda charges for the O2 sensor. Can anyone who is using one of the cheaper O2 sensor chips give us a report.

I bought mine for Rs. 2,025 (including taxes). It is working perfectly fine and the performance of the engine has improved a lot.

At just 11% of the original cost, it truly is worth getting.

Shanu, with the O2 sensor; can you check if its still available? and in the mean time can you give me the name (brand) coz there is one available here and the guy is asking of 6k.
I wouldn't mind picking it up from you.. that's the best price so far..
There is supposed to platinum or something in this right? why 16k

Raul - with the windshield; that's what Linkway quoted? how can 2 ASC's have such huge diff in the price? I checked at peninsular honda. maybe I'll try Vision or Cosmic honda.

What matters is the brand of the sensor. Get something like a Denso or Bosch and you'll be fine. Don't worry about the wiring, most of them can be wired without any real hassle. What you might not get is the OEM socket, but splicing wires isn't difficult.

Aquaplaning also depends on tread wear. i drifted on a mahindra king cab due 2 bad tyres. other than that aquaplaning also is caused due to the oil residue left on the roads.

That's most definitely true - the denso is 16K with honda and 6k with my spare part guy and what if it's the same denso with Shanu for 2.5K.
I'll go for the 2.5 one. From where I come, we can't do anything jus like that, basic time required is 3days for anything to surface, even if its word of mouth... one spare shop, the ASC is 3 hrs drive, no good garages.. the list goes on :-)
which is why all the questions and answers, thanks Pranavt for socket replace idea!

I checked 3 months ago on a routine service because I have been contemplating changing it, its 7k outside too, apparently a cheaper Malaysian version is available too for 5k or something. I have a service scheduled on Thursday, will recheck and confirm.

In the meantime its with some trepidation that I ask this question, because I have spent 30k of late on the car on routine things, with 25k to go for new tyres, windscreen and another 10k plus for alloys.

There is a slight rattle/rumble, I don't know how to define the sound, like a vibration for the last 2 weeks coming from a location just under the brake/accelerator pedals on uneven roads. Its definitely coming from the right front tyres area towards just under the clutch/brake pedal area. I hope its not going to be some expensive issue.

if its a slight tac tack esp while you take a full turn; then its the drive shaft. but a rumble.. I'm too sure, one way to check is to see if the boots are torn or damaged, coz my Drive shaft problem started like that.
Anyways your next service is in 2 days, ask them to check it for. and I hope its not something huge!

Not sure but most insurance cos give 90% on the glass. just got once changed for the Ikon and we had to pay only 1k for the entire job including labour.

It was cash less. btw the WS cost was 5.5k.

The 90% i was told was for the first year and after 3yrs its comes down to 50%. Hope it was cash less :-)
they quoted about 17K for the drive shaft.
I'm hoping to hear from Shanu about the O2 sensor or thats another 16.

I'l have to check and see what make it is. Some of my friends have also been using it and haven't faced probs as yet.

The shop is in Blore. I will pm you the address and phone number. He has pretty much all the spares for the OHC.

I even picked up an exedy clutch from the guy for 3,700 (including tax). Now the car keeps spinning its wheels whenever i go WOT in 1st. So its working fine. LOL

hey that sounds like a good price for the clutch. you would not get it below 5k in mumbai.

Send me the address and number also.
