My OHC 1.5 EXI has developed a leak in the steering rack and i need to repair it. The Honda guys suggested replacing the entire assembly (would cost me around 15-16k).
Can anybody here (fellow Bangloreans) suggest a reliable mechanic who can fix this for me.
Hi Ravishankar,

You could get it done in Bosch Cars on Chord Road or RAC in Koramangala.

RAC is a good place, Please speak to a person called "Ranjith" when you go there. He should be able to help. I can give you the service advisor's number there. PM me if you want to get it done there.

Bosch cars do a good job too. Bosch cars will be closer to your place.

Ya it has to be one of the 3. Mostly it would be the tps sensor setting.
@Shan - whats the cost of the tps in bang??
No, I haven't checked any of them. The sad part is a taking this car for service. The HASS is a day-out. 7hrs total travel + time at service center.
I hope there is one that opens closer. But will get these checked.

@KSM - TB clean up? I didn't follow that (my bad ) but I didn't do any work other than the periodic service.

Throttle body clean up. When the carbon is taken off there is little more space between the butterfly and the TB which leads to fluctuating rpm.

normally the tps is also cleaned with the tb and hence there could be a problem with the tps setting.

Cool. I dont think it should be a problem. If you notice that the problem has increased then do stop driving the car.

otherwise it will only impact your FE.

are you sure that it has nothing to do with the suspension??

Check if the sound comes on bad roads or only on right turns.

is the sound present when you turn right at standstill.

I had that tak tak sound in my car every time i turned the steering. Turned out to be a simple tie rod end prob.

So was that a replacement or was it re-adjusted.. I'm asking coz the Honda folks mentioned that my Tie Rod had an issue.

They replaced it. Wasn't very expensive, i think i paid around 400 (this was in 2004) for both tie rods ends.

idiling rpm

I recently noticed my idle rpm has gone up slightly on my OHC 1.3 previously it was 800 and when AC on it was close to 1000 . Now without AC it is 1200 and with AC its close to 1300 . What could be the reason . 2 days back i reved the car on stand still till 6K - 7K just to notice the K&N sound. Will that be a cause ?
And give the car for refixing the Rear bumper .RAC took 2 days to deliver it . Not sure whether they screwed it up.
