Check your turbo plumbing, I had developed a very interesting and similar problem some time back, the pipe between the turbo and intercooler came loose. It wasn't until I drove the car with my music system off and windows down that I noticed the whine of the escaping air. I rarely push the car beyond 1800 rpm in the city, so I hadn't even realised that the pipe had come off.

Turns out it was just a case of Indigestion

after filling up from a known fuel pump and adding lots of System D ( I had stopped adding it a while back to see if it made a difference) , engine seems to be normal. will confirm after the next highway run

Then ,Why Indica is chosen as Taxis? It sure offers good mileage.Latest Models have evolved a little than what it was way back in 2002(V2).

What are the impacts of driving with weakened rear wheel bearings? even the next week looks tough for me to go n get it changed.

I bought my Indica DLG TCIC on Nov '06, these are the problem I faced till now (in the order of time)

1. Mirrors-3nos replaced (will explain why)

2. Potentiometer was replaced (due to 'check engine' lamp won't go off)

3. Fuel pump return line was leaking for 2 times.

4. Both the front wheel bearings are not in good condition.

5. It was having a left pulling, and the outer edge FR and inner of FL tyre had more wear. Checked the alignment but still the problem persists. TASC says the struds needs to be replaced. But I didn't do that, because they price for those were too high for me (Rs.3600/- each, TASC price). Don't have any reliable mechys around here, will go to Carnation tho check the strudes.

Regarding the mirror, I will blame TATA for its poor quality material. It is because I didn't lose my mirror's in crash, it got broken when I tried to fold it. and replaced it three times. And the for the fourth time it got broken again. . I didn't fold too hard, just the normal way of folding a mirror, so smooth.

vaisakh, are you replacing them with the new style or old style mirrors ?
Try the Indigo mirrors. They have a Stainless still strip which should help limit damage.
but cochin rush hour traffic is a lot worse (and i mean not polite) compared to tvm traffic

guys, anyone found some better TASS in Ahmedabad till now, have checked out with all of them and none seemed to do a proper job, thinking to try with Aspi motors which are improving with their services.

Thanks for the reply. I am having the old type mirrors. Can I fit new type in there? As I told earlier it was not broken in collision with something, but when i try to fold the mirror, which happened 4 times

I think you should be able to retrofit them, One mirror costs 1.4k

Be warned that the viewable area is a bit less
