Expenses used to come around 5K.
This time I am planning to take to a service garage that is near my house and they have good reputation in that area and also it seems their service charges are nominal.
Let anyone can share the drawback of it. I have extended warranty and it may become invalid. Also until now I have not faced any issues with my vehicle and it runs like a dream (Indica Level) and the mileage is around 16/17 Kms.
Any precautions need to be considered for the 60K service, it still runs under the stock brakes and only LHS shocks as been changed.
5k for general service? So high?

I was driving 300kms continuously yesterday, my Temp Gauge needle was straight in the middle, once in a while the Engine Fan would go On and OFF thus knowing the thermostat is fine.
Due to some reason i had to stop , i switched off the engine for some 10 minutes. The engine failed to start, my battery is in good condition as i have no problems starting the car early in the morning, we al know this problem is common in all Diesel Indicas clocking around 40000+ on the ODO.
The car started normally on other occasion signaling its impossible to crank start the car when engine is very hot!
In previous discussion also this problem is diagnosed as a starter issue but can anyone confirm this?

I am thinking of upsising my present stock rubber Appollo amazer xl (165/65R13) to 165/70R appollo amazer xl. There is a 3% increase in the side walls, but I feel shall filter undulations considerably.

I have hand crafted a DIY air filter for the Xeta and V2 LSi, which has made a big boomy change in the performance.

doc, did u change the tyres, i suggest 185/60 R13

My Indica is having a strange problem from past few days:

First, the Engine blower fan got kaput due to which the tempreature went to high 5-6 times, as the car was driven by my driver. He drove it 1km with temp. indicator at its hot.
2) After that, i replaced it with new fan for 4500rs.
3) Then, too the radiator got leakage, reapired it 1st time. Then again it got leaked, again i repaired it. 3rd time again it got leaked. This time i replaced radiator with new one.
4) Now, the car is refusing to start, no matter how long i crank engine??

I think that GASKET of the car is gone?? ANy guesses by you guys?

@ Greenhorn, both my cars have hitachi ECUs, they are oppositely and differently mounted in both cars. The entire air intake, combustion and exhaust piping is completely different. I love my Indicas, but need to treat them like babies.

@Junnaiga, no the tyres not yet changed. Wouldnt the size 185/60R13 be too much for this fuel thirsty car? I want better ride quality, Indica grip is ok. As it is its giving me 10kmpl with ac in city driving, upsize may bring down fuel returns more.

Mine are pure petrol ones. Which size(s) shall be compatible using 14 inches rims? Though I have had rare instances of Indica wheel rim bending, may I ask theoretically how can 14 inchers reduce rim bending or give better pothole cushioning?

Yes, Junnaiga if you are asking about your hot engine not starting problem, 70% blame on the starter motor. The Lucas people will charge around 350 for entire servicing of the starter. One reason I prefer Lucas for electricals is they handle wiring carefully, they know their job, they charge reasonably and they open minimum parts only that are needed and we dont need to get the starter opened by a mechanic and take it to Lucas.

Even if the starter and/or alternator is working normal, its better to get them serviced once in 18 months for older vehicles. (Indicas may need more attention)

The stock size is 165/65R14. the regular upsizes also should fit.

Of course, if you are worried about speedo error, nothing you can do about it.

Bigger rims , by virtue of their bigger size are not as susceptible to falling sharply into potholes. same way that bikes offer better ride than scooters

Of course, i dont have data to back this up, just posting what I think should work

Okay I have a query. 2005 June Indigo Marina LX run 71k. The hydraulic pipe of the power steering from the rack to the oil container has a slight film of oil and a drop on the banjo at the rack. Now this pipe stars off as a 3 inch long rubber pipe from just below the container fitted with a jublee clip, this is fitted to a metal tube which is bent and goes down and then turns to the rear of the car under the fender, then there is a longer rubber pipe which goes on to the rack and is attached/crimped with a banjo to it. Oil returns to the container through this.

I feel the crimps are leaking. I am unable to get this, tried a few shops in mahim etc and even went to opera house. I dont want to open it and search because I can still drive the car as the leak is minimal.

So whats the advice where will I get this on mumbai. All shops seem to have the hig pressure pipe.

SS-Traveller any idea if this is high pressure or low? Will it give way? I need to drive to Goa but want to change this part
