Keeping it natural will keep masking the scratches. If you paint it you run the risk of future scratches showing prominently. I think you should be able to replace just the cladding. Or you can try polish. The same one that they apply once you send your safari for service. Just my opinion

Why don't you give tyre polish a try? Don't apply too much as that will make the cladding 'shinny' after a while. Just use a little bit on a piece of cloth and apply it on the cladding. Wipe it after application, do not leave the cladding 'wet'. It will attract a lot of dust in such a case.

If you do decide to paint it, get it done outside, will be a lot cheaper.

Just to update so someone else may benefit
The P0500 error came up due to carbon on the sensor. Got it cleaned (foc) tata guys did it for me as i had done engine work from them.So now all good. They said the moment error registers the engine may slightly stutter tgh nothing much dramatic happens unless its redlined

One more query
I feel engaging first gear a bit hard and also clutch seems a bit hard . My car has done only 38k in its 5 years. Anything potential to look out for ?

Sometimes engaging first gear is a bit hard. It is 'normal' for our gearbox. As for the clutch, the service guys apply some grease and it becomes sort of normal for a few months.

Can anyone confirm if the stock central locking system of Safari (3.0 Dicor to be specific) is made by Autocop? Also, anyone aware of any procedure to reset the keyfob?

Hi guys,
a problem occurred on my Safari 2.2 dicor. Temperature gauge needle stays on far left side - starting position all the time. That has happened when I turned AC on. AC fan runs ok. I didn't have the time to wait for engine fan to start, but temp. of coolant is around 95 degrees C.

Anyone with similar problem or possible solution?

It is Minda not Autocop

What is the issue? The key fob doesn't need to be reset, even if one changes the car battery.

The problem is weird. The central locking just freezes sometimes. Sometimes I will be able to lock/unlock with the remote but sometimes the system does not respond and I will have to open the door manually. Been in a sticky situation couple of times where the immobilizer was still active and wasnt able to start the truck because it was not responding to the remote. Even central locking from the driver door will not work when this freezing happens.

PS: Have bypassed the immobilizer as of now to avoid such situations.

PPS: Remote battery was recently changed and the LED blinks with all the button operations.

Any solutions for this? Gets irritating at times.

Unless the Chassis ECU is misbehaving, this could be a simple problem of loose connection. With the car off and key out, remove the cable connector from the ECU (under driver seat) and reconnect. Just might solve the problem.

Alternately you may also contact the MINDA helpline. Their service is quite prompt.

The SVC has checked this once and did replug the CU. They then mentioned that the issue is solved and it was a cut wire somewhere. And now the problem has resurfaced. Its a 10yo truck and this critical component's misbehaviour at times is highly irritating since I usually travel with my family which includes my 1 year old daughter. So I don't really want to repair the system like what was done before and would like to completely replace it with an aftermarket system. Is it possible if I go for a full system including the actuators?

Thanks Dhruv. As mentioned above I have lost trust in the system and can't afford another lockout when I am out with my family. I would like to replace the system with a brand new one. Is this possible since it already has an OEM system in place?

man_of_steel, I am surprised your TASC has not involved Minda team till now. The OEM Minda support is excellent. You just need to log a complaint. I think their number All India Number is 011-33145145. You can always contact your TASC for local contact number. They should be easily able to resolve the issue. FOC if under warranty and chargeable if out of warranty. Just check if your battery is in good condition. Any drop in voltage affects the performance.

Nop. Minda team was not involved until now. Let me give it a last try. Thanks for the tip. And yes, battery is brand new.
