@deepclutch

You have got some excellent averages there. And now it is reason for me to worry. Why am i getting such low mileages ? Have to find it out.

I experienced similar burning smell when I drove via that route. It must be due to the frequent and hard braking done. Might be the tyre burning as well.
No cause of concern at all.

Hi,

[quote=deepclutch;1746344]
55.13litres of Diesel(with Bills) for Total 1140kms Trip to Velankanni.Mileage is 20.67kmpl Overall(With Many Bad Roads,Ghat Sections,Madurai,Trichy Traffic 60-100kmph speeds)

May I assume that AC was used 100%? If so good mileage!

You are supposed to be using engine braking by going in lower gears while going downhill to minimise brake overheating.

Otherwise brake over heating and even failure is common can happen in any car.

A/C used may be for some 25% part of the Trip.I think even if A/C is Blasted in the Highways(of Tamilnadu) ,Mileage won't drop Much(may be 1kms?) with Multijet Engine?

and I agree about Engine Breaking thing.But the Experience of Engine Braking is not the Same as in our Indica DLS.Rpm Rises and Eventually,Braking is needed in Long Steep downhill.

But ,I feel brake pad overheating Happened due to faster driving in Ghats(Uphill) and sudden turns made using brakes to assist slow down on Curves.Both Ways ,I am guilty of over using brakes.Will Help Me Remember Next time.

Hai all, done 38k service for my vista and the bill amount came 8k.Which include interior cleaning for 590rs,fuel filter with sensor 2550rs,break pads 1645rs then regulars like engine oil and others.
As on date my average fe is 15 in town and 17 in high way(100% ac on).
I'm using micheline 185 65 R14 and still threads are enough to cover another 5 to 7k km(i hope).
Still have the breaking issue and service center promised me to change the disk next time under warranty coz right from my 1st service i'm complaining abt this.
Tha's all no other issues and running very smoothly.regards

My Vista QJD completed 4500kms and awaiting second Free Service.I feel ,Sometimes with A/C Turbo is Kicking Up delayed.

May be I am Confusing or May be Not- It is Abnormally Very Hot Summer Here and I am feeling Is the Hot Humid Conditions Responsible For this Sluggishness?

Thanks.

Vista TDI-1st Year or 10k Free Service

Update: Last week I had my Indica Vista Aqua TDI serviced for the third free service(1 year completed). I have not driven the car much and the odo reads: 5200 kms.
Car given to Srinivasa Automobiles (Pune-Hadapsar MIDC).
I purchased Mobil Delvac Super Oil-15W-40 5 litre pack for Rs1030 (MRP:1135)and handed over to the service guys.Vista TDI when filled with 5L oil the level of oil is above the top mark on the dipstick.This has been observed by another team bhp Indigo owner too. I think either we cant drain the 0.5 litre of oil from the engine or TATA has mentioned 5.5 Litre engine oil for a newly manufactured engine.But once oil is filled the engine will take only 5Litres.
Engine oil filter and Fuel filter costed me Rs310 (Total Including VAT)
Labour was free so Total service cost 1030+310= Rs 1340.
Paid service charges are Rs 450 so I estimate a cost of Rs 1340+450= Rs1790 during my future paid services.
I find the engine only a little smooth after Oil change,nothing substantial to feel the difference.
Uptil now the car is doing fine except the Front right power window motor replaced in warranty for Malfunctioning. Rest the Car is great.It does not has the pickup and seriously lacks the driveability of a Quadrajet but at the same time its ok if one just want a car with huge space to move from Point A to Point B with sufficient power to overtake on the Flat roads. Driveability issues arise when you are climbing hill and due to some unavoidable reason the engine rpm goes below 1500.Overall I am satisfied with my decision and the cost I paid for the CAR.

Sorry for the repeated reply but, Should I put 0.5 litre Oil into Engine now as per the Manual recommendation?(The oil level is already at the top mark of the dipstick)

As many of you pointed out, I was also getting lot of rattling noises in my AURA QJD, especially from the front RH door / of the window. I don't know whether it is the greatness of LORD VENKATESHWARA (really mean it). Last week had been to TIRUPATHI from HOSUR via VELLORE & CHITTOOR. On the return trip through the same route, near KATPADI, ran over a slightly bigger pothole. POOF, no more noises. Feels the window glass seating was improper prior to the incident & might've got rectified.

Apart from this never had any of the issues shared in this thread. Feels done a worthy investment

By the way I'm getting 16 exactly & consistently irrespective of city or highway (maintains between 90 to 100 normally).

My friend's Indica is consuming too much oil and getting heated. We have already tried changing Engine oil, Oil filters, Coolant Water, Almost Everything but nothing worked and the Temperature Meter always show the mark near the Extreme Level. There is no problem to the Temperature meter. Suggest something to let her chill.

Which car is it -Indica Vista or the earlier Indica?If you are enquiring about the earlier Indica there is another forum where you can post your query. This forum is specifically for Indica Vista only.

Query about power window speed

The power windows in my Indica Vista Quadra Aura Ltd. Ed. seem to behave strangely. The window glass on the right, moves up or down slowly compared to the window glass on the left. Is it normal in an Indica Vista
