Indica Vista - list of Known problems

Just like its predecessor, the indica Vista has its own share of problems, which tata is supposed to be taking care of, but I think we should maintain a list of these known issues so that new vista buyers can add them to their PDI/ exisiting owners can verify.

so far

1. power steering pump issues - taken care of before launch
2. windcreen beading issues - not proper/loose etc
3. screeching brakes - still unresolved
4. horn not working with wheel at full lock

<added later due to a lot of reports>
5. Noises from suspension
6) Poor AC performance (fixed with firmware update - for details see page 17)
7) Recurring Power window switch failure

Vista owners, please contribute

- Dickey lock is very tight when you try to open with the key and one would feel that it will give away
- beeding issues at all places including doors
- CD reading issues. It takes ages to read the first song when a MP3 cd is inserted

a lot of OE stereos have that problem. just have to learn to live with it.
PS : how have you organized the mp3's ? it may depend on that too.

Hi greenhorn.

I disagree to the fact the OE stereos have that problem. I compared the stereos with the Linea stereo at the stockyard and it took just 10 seconds for linea to read the cd, where as it takes approx 45 to 50 sec for the Vista Clarion stereo to read the same cd. Also checked the blaupkunt stereo included in the anniversary edition and it takes only about 20 secs to read the cd. (Same cd used in all three). Also my baleno which came with kenwood stereo takes approx 20 secs to read.

With this I mean to suggest is that probably the clarion stereos are not upto the mark and that could be the reason. But you cant help it as you have to live with the clarion or else loose warranty.

Regards,
Kailash

Has anyone had problems with the door handles , fuse box cover etc falling off?
One of the cars i saw at the dealership here had trim falling off from all kinds of places. The plastic is really flimsy, even worse than in the V2.

@Kailash- You mean to say we have to stay with OE clarion otherwise warranty will be void?
If this is true then thats very absurd.

Abnormal brake fade, wind shield beading falling off and most vista's A/C efficiency is very very poor. But one hell of a Value for money car at that price can't complain about it.

The ac for vista is not so particulary effective during the day time. The AC for the older version V2 was lot more better and also the flow direction of the AC vents leave lot to be desired.

@ Harsh:- I had asked at the service centre and the service manager of TATA. They have only asked me to stay with clarion or else the warranty would be lost. I actually wanted to change the clarion to the anniversary blaupkunt model but was categorically advised not to change anything. Hence I am now stuck with clarion. Will not want to forgo the warranty for little more better sound.

Regards.

1. Screeching sound when breaks are applied. More in the morning. some times during day time also.
2. thud at the back esp. left side when breaks are applied. not always but some times.
3. dickey lock as some one said little flimsy. one feels key may break.

Hi,

Today while cleaning the car, I came across rust on the disc brakes of the car. Has anyone of you ever seen this on your new car.

regards,
Kailash
