Any means to get hold of a copy / scan of the Vista workshop manual? The TASC showed it to me to (try to) convince me that the oil change is 3.7 litres when I told them that the capacity as per the owners manual is only 3.2 litres.

It is really going to be difficult to get tat service manual. Have read that Maruti provides them for their cars through the dealers, no such luck so far with TATA.

The Palio MJD oil chnage bill is only for 3.2 litres. Take a look at the following:

When is the first oil change due?
Having read somewhere on TBHP, I wanted a change at 1000Km. However the manual says 10000Km and the person at ASC said he was not allowed as per the rules to change the oil any sooner.

This could be possible - 3.7 litres with a new engine oil filter, and 3.2 litres for just draining and refilling

Perhaps the thread title can be modified to `... list of known virtues' instead.

As I mentioned earlier, the specifications (page 131)says 2.2L minimum and 3.2 L maximum. But technical information (page128) says 3.7 litres.

I had once asked something similar for the thread for its predecessor

Sorry, age is catching up with me.

The page 128 must have been a typo. Well the Palio enigne just takes 3.2 litres and so that must be the correct figure. I think even the Swift oil change takes only 3.2 litres.

In another thread, read about Maruthi circular for Swift instructing not to fill more than 3.1 litres including filter.

There has been no post in the thread for almost a month. Does it mean that Vista owners no longer face any problem?

I asked TASS. He said 3.7 ltrs is required when engine is dry (when newly manufactured). When we change the oil not all 3.7 ltrs get flushed out. So while chaging only 3.3 ltrs is required which costs around Rs.240 per liter
