re: Preview: Ford Endeavour

The specs look promising and even the Trend variant is equipped with all the modern bells and whistles. The 2.2l variants will be the volume player for Ford. I am impressed with the 3.2l Titanium specs. This can easily compete with SUV's a segment above such as the new Discovery Sport and likes.

Ford Endeavour India: Variants, specs & more!

Ford India is all set to launch the new Endeavour in January 2016. The variants, specs and more details have been revealed on the company's website.

The Endeavour will be available with a choice of 2 diesel engines - 2.2-litre (158 BHP / 385 Nm) mated to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed AT; and 3.2-litre (197 BHP / 470 Nm) mated to a 6-speed AT only. Both these options will be available in 2 trim variants - Trend and Titanium. The 2.2-litre prospective buyers will have the option to choose between a 4x2 or 4x4 + manual in Trend trim or a 4x2 + AT in Titanium trim, while the 3.2-litre is available with 4x4 + AT in both the trim variants.

This SUV measures 4,892 mm x 1,860 mm x 1,837 mm in length x width x height respectively. It has a wheelbase of 2,850 mm and a ground clearance of 225 mm.

There are 6 colours to choose from - Sunset Red, Golden Bronze, Moondust Silver, Panther Black, Diamond White and Smoke Grey. All variants come with 18-inch alloy wheels that are shod with 265/60 section tyres.

Some notable features in the 2.2-litre and the 3.2-litre Trend variant are fog lamps, rear spoiler, ORVMs with integrated turn-indicators and electronic adjustment + fold function, leather upholstery, leather-wrapped steering & gear knob, 8-way electrically adjustable driver seat, rear parking sensors, rear view camera, dual-zone climate control, rear air-con + ceiling vents for rows 2 & 3, rear wiper + washer + defogger, power lift tailgate, rain sensing wipers and cruise control.

In addition to these, the 2.2-litre Titanium variant gets LED tail lamps and LED DRLs, interior ambient lighting, auto headlamps with HIDs + jet wash, front parking sensors, tyre pressure monitor and side puddle lamps.

The 3.2-litre Titanium variant gets an electric panoramic sun roof, power folding 3rd row and semi-automatic parallel park assist in addition to the above.

Terrain management system and hill descent control are standard with in the 4x4 variants.

All variants are equipped with a TFT touchscreen infotainment system which supports CD, Aux-in, 2 USB ports and Bluetooth. The car is equipped with Ford's SYNC technology and 10 speakers. This SUV also gets Integrated Active Noise Cancellation.

Safety features like disc brakes on all wheels, dual airbags, ABS + EBD, ESP, TC, hill launch assist, emergency assistance and Ford MyKey are standard across all variants. The 2.2-litre Titanium also gets side + curtain airbags and a burglar alarm. The 3.2-litre Titanium is equipped with a driver knee airbag too.

Ford has lived up to its promise and has offered most of the features that were showcased in the Thai-spec Everest, which we previewed in September 2015 Link to Official Preview. Enthusiasts will now have to hold on to their cheque books for a few more weeks, before Ford officially launches the Endeavour in India and reveals its prices.

Re: Ford Endeavour India: Variants, specs & more!

Although not in the queue to buy this as of now, It still is wonderful news to me. Out of the three big dominating SUVs in the segment, Endeavour is the one with old style looks and hence will appeal to people who prefer old-style in your face looks to the too modern and curvy approach of the next generation of the Fortuner and the Pajero. If I could afford it right now, Smoke Grey it would have been. Looking forward to seeing many of these on our roads. Bugged of seeing Fortuners.

Re: Ford Endeavour India: Variants, specs & more!

This is the one i have been waiting for...had a sneak peek at Thailand and came away suitably impressed. The white one was jaw dropping.

Just bought an XUV500 so not in the market immediately, but this would certainly get first look in when i change next. Hope they price it sensibly for the product has shaped up great.
