I completely forgot to update the thread about this, however better late than never.

So few months back i installed sun-control films for the Fortuner @ 3M Mulund;

Total Cost was aprox INR 18k (Inclusive of Taxes) + got 3 Car Wash Coupons Free :thumbs up

Overall effectiveness is good & its a nice feel good factor during the summers, also the tint level is may be 10-15% darker than stock :thumbs up

Since its just 10-15% darker than stock, is it noticable. I mean can the traffic police spot it easily?

It is noticeable to be honest, but still doesnt catch the eye of the cops as most so called VIP or Politician owned Fortuners/Innovas flaunt jet black tints which the cops are so used to seeing. So in comparison this is just like stock & thankfully haven't been stopped by the cops yet :thumbs up

Karan I didn't see your brake pads being changed till 30k kms. Have they lasted this long?
Also what is the cost of a set of front brake pads? I can see it listed for approx Rs.5.3k. So is the whole set of front brake pads for both left and right for 5.3k?

How is the truck doing as of now? Any more experimentation with the tire pressures?

Yes, they surprisingly did last longer than i expected. But i think at the next service the front pads may need to be replaced as per the previous service thickness reading.

Not sure of the exact amount, but the pricing is usually for a set.
Rear set should be relatively cheaper though.

Great, i am currently following 29 psi for solo drives & 30 psi for a loaded car.

Can you please post pics of the car sporting the tints. It would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance:thumbs up

The car looks as good as stock. Hence chances of cop trouble will be low. I have read all your ownership threads and I must say all of them are beautiful written. Wish you many more miles with this beast.:thumbs up

No OTR's this monsoon?

Any other feedback? And how is the availability now?

Just got home after watching a late night movie.
The Fortuner is simply unstoppable in however poor, inconsistent the Mumbai City roads are currently & with these rains too IMO with a good driver it might be the fastest vehicle to be in from point A to B for Mumbai.
Also the hydraulic steering is a big bonus over undulations and provides a solid confidence inspiring control.
The Manual Transmission with the rev matching iMT is a gift given by Toyota to all the commited driving enthusiasts out there & might be the best thing about this new gen Fortuner, oh also one last point that a Manual Fortuner is the highest torque rated ' Diesel Manual ' vehicle you can buy in India :thumbs up
Good Night !

Off-topic.

How easy is it to get in trouble with cops for having a modified car?

Would this get into trouble very often?

Agreed with your assessment regarding go anywhere attitude of Fortuner but don't you find the interior quality and design terrible ?

I recent sat in it and found the quality firstly very bad for a car that commands this a high price and then the design of the dashboard was also very ok , nothing special . I wish Toyota works on its interior design and quality .

The Arctic Truck fenders are really adding muscle to the Fortuner, thanks for sharing the pic :thumbs up

Those tyres would really slow down the car & make the steering etc. less practical in city conditions but overall if you dont have a flashy wrap or unwanted body kits, lights, metal bumper, crash guards etc then this amount of modification i.e. lift + meaty tyres + fenders will not attract cops attention.

I have no issues with the interior quality, nor with the design (also this is subjective). I personally just dont like the gear knob design & that's about it.
