Re: Asterix, my 2021 Force Gurkha | The adventure begins

Congratulations and wishing you countless happy kilometers with your Gurkha.

To be honest, I will read your review without loading the images (else I will develop an OCD to get one). The teaser images that you posted in the Gurkha review thread are too mouth watering.

As you have owned some premium SUVs in the past, would you say that Gurkha can serve a one car garage for a solo driver?

Thanks for your wishes! Yes i feel the Gurkha can serve as a one car for all purpose now.
Depends on your driving style though.

If you have a need for speed then maybe not. But if your solo highway trips are at 90 kmph to 100 kmph then surely it fits your purpose.

Within the city its very maneuverable in traffic thanks to its size and gearing.

Average Fuel economy is 10-12 max so do consider this when making your decision.

Took a lot of effort to click and then upload those images bro..do take a look!

Congratulation Manuuj.
Your Gurkha looks amazing - those alloys and tyres (along with the Khukri wheel cap) completely transform the looks.
Wishing you a very happy and long fuss-free ownership.

Excellent read! Congrats on owning a proper toy.

There's something intriguing and strangely satisfying about owning a lifestyle vehicle, the prospect of which excites me!

Congratulations! Hope you're getting used to all the admiring stares that are coming your way from (I'm assuming) almost everyone on the road. Nice set of modifications as well. Can you share the horn that you chose finally? I'm looking for a more macho sounding horn for my jeep and seem to want something similar to what you were wanting.

Wow!! What a review!
Congratulations on the car and thanks for the wonderful passionate review. I am sure a lot of fence-sitters will go buy the Gurkha after reading the review.

Thank you so much for the good wishes. I checked. Hair present in sufficient numbers.

Will update with regards to the dampmat. Still researching.

Thank you for your good wishes! Do take a test drive of the Gurkha. You may be surprised. I most definitely was! I will post a pic of the Bi LED fog lamps. They may be Chinese but seem to be of good quality and waterproof too.

These are the originals that came off Asterix. The fittings were re-used. Entire process took 45 minutes. No original wires were cut or harmed in the process!

Thank you so much! Fortunately this toy is practical enough as a daily driver. Its a breeze in traffic. Love it when cars move to the side and let it pass.

Re: Asterix, my 2021 Force Gurkha | The adventure begins

Fantastic and detailed review. Owning a Gurkha is still a dream for me as it was for Thar a few years back. I cannot but appreciate your choice starting from the selection of the car down to the alloy and tyre. I was closely following the developments including your posts at 2021 Gurkha thread.

Would you please throw more light on how the DPF functions in BSVI Gurkha? How about the possible indication systems and the functioning of the DPF button on the dashboard?

I have interacted with few drivers of BSVI Trax in HP and UK few days back, and they reported the cars had issues due to DPF malfunction initially and some instances of failing to pull up on moderate gradients even in 1st gear. Force motors changed the ECU in some cases; they are working fine now. I am really curious to know more on this front before I take a plunge into owning and enjoying the exclusivity. Recent horror stories of almost every BSVI diesel car from hills are playing a strong deterrent to invest in another 4x4 (BSVI diesel) after my old gen. Thar.

Re: Asterix, my 2021 Force Gurkha | The adventure begins

Congratulations Manuuj on one of the most enjoyable , enthusiastic, educative and feel great reviews ! Wish you a wonderful and fulfilling ownership. I particularly enjoyed Benji's photograph! He looks so comfortable and seems to be taking in the view !
I am yet to take a long drive in Nemo . I am enjoying the feel of getting in ( climbing in ) , the panoramic view , the feeling of unconcern over any road surface and the sheer joy of looking at the vehicle .
Your coverage of all the areas is thorough and informative
I look forward to ideas about the extension of the ladder . Another thought is to use the jerry can as a water tank with a suitable outlet for use during expeditions.
Looking forward to keeping in touch, reading your ownership updates and sharing some of my own .
I had a follow up call from Force Customer Care enquiring about the welfare and my feed back about Nemo. Like you have said , I commend Force for their efforts in giving us an enthusiast's vehicle at a value for money price point . Here's to hoping for a great long term relationship and something to take pride in !

Re: Asterix, my 2021 Force Gurkha | The adventure begins

Congratulations Manuuj. I think Force Motors have a challenge to make a great ownership experience for lifestyle-oriented urban consumers. Your initial report opens up tantalizing possibilities for many viewers and members as such.

Just a question-you mentioned that this model is more or less an all new design. Considering that, don't you think some of the cabin elements could have been better designed ? Like the seatbelt anchor points and sliding motion for rear seats for example? They could have also incorporated a full folding mechanism to make it a spacious 2-seater.

Very good initial ownership report and whats more interesting to read was the virtual walkthrough of your journey upto the delivery of the Gurkha. Made me emotional.
Really looking smashing in the Green and with the new wheels.
Can you please share details of the bi beam led fogs? With winter at the doorstep, the yellow beam would be very helpful. Do share your feedback after driving in Delhi fog.
