Lovely thread on a great full blooded SUV.

I have a query about the Neo alloys that you have on your Gurkha.

How are they holding up? Any signs of rusting/ coat peel off?

I am thinking about getting them for my Hexa.

The Neo Killers are impressive. I wanted to change into steelies initially if they give me trouble, but I must say the quality is pretty good and stands upto abuse admirably.

Also some of my friends have got it blacked out and they look wicked.

The Maxxis MT tires proved their mettle again during a slushy trail they took on recently.

We hit a narrow stretch and surrounded by bisons, had to reverse the entire trail. Quite the adventure.

There were two Gurkhas on the trail. One with MT and one with stock AT. The slushy trails proved to be better playfield for the MT of course.

Based on my off-road experience till date , I’m planning two functional mods -
Underbody armour protection
And body lift.

Will update on both mods when I get it done

PRAD 4X4 Underbody Armour

It's difficult to find aftermarket options for the Gurkha, but luckily Prad4x4 has this custom kit for the BS6 which bolts on direct.

+Thick plate
+Strong Sheet Metal.
+Direct Bolt on OEM mounts.
+Comes in two pieces with a pouch of all nuts and bolts you'll ever need.
+Perfect alignment with mounts and bumper.

Thanks to Trojan's reference of his older generation Gurkha Explorer, I laid it out against my new BSVI Gurkha.

The lower arms in both the old and the new Gurkhas are about 205mm clear off the ground.

You need to peg it against the Gurkha Xtreme, world of difference in the setup.

Atleast Prad made parts for your Gurkha BS6 ; Gurkha Xtreme BS4 parts accessories are spars but thanks to the Team Gurkha group (on WA also) the community is quite strong. And hence the customizations.

Loved the DJANGO and small subtle mods, nice TLC. In a place again which is very close to my Heart the Islands. Only thing which I wished when I had visited was to have a vehicle of my own to drive on those serene roads. Wishing the best to the island.

Weird how everyone is getting different GCs even with same sized tires.
I am getting 195-200mm with 245/75 Maxxis MTs, apparently you are getting a little more. Manuuj is getting a little less with his RTs.

GC measurement in our setups would not be very accurate. There are various factors, like the smallest slope of the ground could compress the lower facing springs. And the tyre pressure obviously plays a role between cars and between different days on the same car. Finally with MT, the tread lugs jut out aggressively beyond the dia and also contribute to these mils. Finally we are really playing around with mm's here, so prone to some error.

These numbers are ,at best, guidance figures, if we are trying to improve anything on our trucks, and I remind myself not to get hung up too much on them.

Speaking of GC, here's my lifted Gurkha with Blue Garage lift kit.

Agreed the GC measurements have lot of variables.

Lifted Gurkha looks great. How is it responding in regards to front CVs and rear prop shaft joint? Seeing all these on internet, I am also thinking to put mine back on.

Installed the BLue Garage Lift Kit on my Force Gurkha. Achieved a 3" body lift and better GC below the bash plate.

Lift kit is not going to lift the height of the control arm correct? Only the height of the body above the suspension and frame is increased.
