A stock Verna will do 190 KMPH. Looks like Hyundai has reduced the top speed of Getz as it is a small car (compared to Verna).

@undead: Congrats.

this is a pocket rocket you are getting.
If you do get it peted, then please consider getting stuff added to increase braking and control.

But honestly do you think we will be travelling at that speed everyday? What this engine does best is the drivabiliy in both city and highways due to very good torque . To me 120kmph is the maximum speed we should go for safety considerations even with ABS.

All i will be doing is putting up good tyres from michelin . I am not a hard footer . I will be installing pete's to reduce the gear shifts and give better driveability as the highways which i usually drive has heavy traffic with lots of trucks and buses . Its hard to reach 5 th gear in my ikon flair .

Yes you are right. Earlier i mentioned that 170 is more for indian roads. And i think in Getz, we can comfortably cruise at 120+.

120 would be good , its got 175/60 R14 tyres ,wider than swift to hold that speed and i will be putting 195/60 R14 in the rims itself to make it even better.

195/60 R14 on stock rims or are you buying alloys? and which branded tires - Yokos or Michelins?

if your really putting petes then 195s arent going to be enough. youll need at least 205/50 r15 yokohama s-drives for the 130bhp+ of the getz with petes.

i cant afford to buy alloys and my dad is driving sometimes he bents the rims as the roads are bad in some of my areas. The rims can be repaired but not the alloys .

Tires , i will be going for Michelins as there are dealers here and cant find one for Yokos . That too i will be changing only after the first set of Stock tyres . If i sell it immediately i can sell it for half the price only , instead let me use the tyres and not waste the money and save it for Petes.

He has mentioned he is going to add petes to make the car better driveable in city and highways and not to use full 130+ BHP.
From his requirement 195/60-14 is enough.
If he wants to extract all the power and torque, i think 205 makes sense.

its not necessary that if you sell the moment you get out of the showroom itll be half price. you could get much more than that. try and see if the hyundai people can give you bridgestone tyres. bridgestone has a much higher exchange value than crappy goodyear gt3s. also if you do keep the 175 section tyres you car is gonna be wheelspinning a lot.

I dont know what company's tyres are being fitted . Forgot to check it during the test drive . Still i will be ending up losing some money and Energy xm1+ costs Rs.4100 per tyre and for 5 tyres its Rs.20500 and a tyre dealer said he will take the Stock tyres for Rs.1500 per tyre . Also , i like the wheel spinning .. It creates some excitement .

Does any of you guys know where i could get a PDF brochure for the Getz ? The one in the Hyundai website is corrupted and not opening and they dont even have a big picture to admire it till i get the car.

1. Getz top speed is definitely more than 170kmph. I could easily cruise(eh? or was i ripping) @ 150kmph in 4th gear.

2. Till now i have seen all Getz Crdis with Goodyear GPS tyres. I dont think Bridgestone is an option.
