Those things cost INR 150/- per TON.

I've got my three tyre valve caps replaced at different times and it was all pro bono from Honda Service. And this is Honda we are talking about! Holy moly!

Jr already had a ride in Fabia, I went to drop my wife and Jr to her home about 120 Kms from Trivandrum for the recuperation part..

Coming back to our topic, did the third service couple of weeks back, total cost was 4500 (did not do wheel alignment and balancing as I regularly do it at a better place). One important piece of info from service, Skoda has officially sent a circular stating that now on service interval is 15,000 kms or 1 year as opposed to 10k now. So the cost of ownership should come down.

Details later as lots of work backlog....

Stop laughing at the title.. This is not a joke.

I have Skoda Fabia D, Classic model. A jealous neighbor put some broomstick/matchbox sticks in my car's both the locks yesterday. I tried everything to remove kachra from the keyhole, needles/vacuum cleaner everything but lock got jammed so called Skoda service adviser. Though it was Sunday and he was on leave he said he will reach my place within an hour.

He came and worked for half and hour in scorching heat and managed to open the lock. He said that locks need to be serviced once as it became very hard due to kachras inside and one lock(passanger side) was not working still. He refused to take any money which I offered.

We dropped the car @ workshop on Sunday itself, He talked with security guys to take care of car as we have not locked the car worrying it may not open again.

Today I got a call from him in the morning that work has been started and car will be ready by today. I called him back around 2 and he said car is ready.
When I went there car was ready vacuumed and waxed.

Total damage : 618/-.

Anyone from Skoda reading this please give some increment to service adviser Mr. Kartik Patel. Really nice guy he is.

I heard of this some time back. Till now they were using Shell Helix. To increase the service interval what engine oil they are going to use and how much extra its going to cost?
But when other hatchbacks are visiting the service station at every 5000 KMs, 15000 KMs is really great.

Yeah, true. The Senior Skoda chaps told me the same thing when I met with them at the inauguration of TAFE's Hosur Road showroom. I didn't want to leak it as they sounded like they were timing release to the market. It sure looks like my car will require a doctor's visit once a year as there was that ice cube thing in the Devil's joint of it hitting 10K kms, so 15K seems even more remote.

has anyone felt this or have I gone deaf in one ear? In the beginning...oh, never mind! I'm NEVER driven in my car, so I never sit in any other seat than the driver's. But, the other day, this buddy needed to drive to the railway station on a chore and since my car was already outside, we decided to take it rather than swing open the gates of his house, signal to gardner and footman to stand and present arms, and suchlike standard drama. Knowing how much I loathe driving in traffic thick-as-flies-on-succulent-moist-Bengali-sweet, I gave him the wheel. Thankfully, he's a good friend and returned the wheel, but I digress: he drove and I sat in front passenger seat feeling like Lord Sahib and generally waving smarmilly at passing natives. That's when Lord Sahib noticed his music seemed to favour the driver of the Bloody wagon. He even thought it could be the stereo technology which decided that saxophones need to play directly at the driver and sundry small items like tambourine and kettle drums could play at his passenger. Felt like I was Lord Sahib, but of some Lesser God. Not Bose. Not Nakamichi.

So I switched tracks, with same effect. The output from the speakers seemed surely biased towards the right. Even fiddling with the balance did not remedy it.

My question is: has it been designed that way or do I need a hearing aid?

I notice something similar only when I connect my iPod or laptop in Aux. But that is purely due to the cheap quality connecting wire that I use. You can experiment more by covering the speakers on the A pillars with your palm to notice the difference in sound effect. Going through the music system manual again can be useful. I can't think of anything else.

RG: I haven't faced the problem in my steed. I do sit on the co-passenger front seat [while interior cleaning] and play muzic too, while at it, but I haven't found any balance problems with the muzic playing.

Can't seem to understand what the problem is, since you've already mentioned you've checked and fiddle with the balance settings.. Maybe you should try Robin's suggestion or pay a quick visit to the sc [though I for some reason doubt they'd have the capacity to check and correct].

Can you also check with the other settings associated with the sound system? It's got to be something in there..

This must be because of loose connection earphone jack..
