A sedan with these specifications is a true value for money deal! This car handles far better and is far more comfortable than others in this segment. If this car does sell--the pricing is it's selling point.

It's good that they have planted the Fiesta diesel engine here and updated the braking system. However, the people at Ford probably should have replaced the dashboard plastic and replaced the side mirrors with a better design. The boot also probably could be lowered and brought in line with the rest of the body.

The external 'look' of the car was also far better with the earlier version. The front profile in the earlier version (with the SXI bumpers) integrated well with the rest of the design. However, the new front-side has a clearly different design. The front bumper with the fog lamps as well as the chrome-plated mesh was probably something that should never have been changed. The side profiles also appears rather plain without the rubber strips on the sides.

Got this info from the Fiesta thread, for those interested in adding the side strips on the doors from the Fiesta. Condor, would be of interest to you, in particular.

Isn't that atrocious ? 3.5k extra for the chrome stripe in that piece of plastic that's already 3.5k ?

a DIY of Chrome paint may make more sense.

1100D--the car looks real cool with the side strips! I'm curious to know beside which lake this snap was taken. Initially I thought it was Hyd, but the buildings just don't match.

The pic was taken from Forshore road in Howrah (the place where I live). The river that you see is the Hooghly, tributary of the holy Ganga in its final flow into the Bay Of Bengal. The buildings in the background are from Calcutta/Kolkata. As a matter of fact this place is good for a Kolkata Skyline pic, I frequent it everyday and hence it did not strike me that it presents a photographic potential.

Pardon me for going off topic.

I doubt it. At this price it should be just a digital odometer with trip meter and NOT a trip computer which calculates distance to empty etc etc.

Quite right! 1100D has done it quite well on his Ikon.
Anirban, any close-up pics of the side strip?

I shall have to take it. Even condor has asked. But right now the Camera is at the service center, will put up in a day or two.

@ 1100D: Is your car running on 14"? Seems like OE alloy wheels.

@RajeshK: You missed out Morello in the color option ;-)

Even in its petrol avatar, the the Flair variant was beginning to get quite popular with the fleet operators. And now, with the diesel, the Fiesta will soon take a backseat.
