Bhaskar seems to be shying away from showing his FTA Linea color.

On a serious note, the more I see FTA color, the faster my initial fascination about it is vanishing. On the contrary, the more I see Flamenco Red, the more Imlike it.

We are hoping to get delivery by September 25, which happens to be my dad's birthday. The car would be for him and it gives him a sense of nostalgia. He had an almost identical color Premier Padmini way back in the 70's. I was inclined on the Medium Grey, but i finally yielded to his choice. I think for a senior person like my dad, this color suits better than grey and would be easy to maintain. The wait has begun and would update the post with delivery experience. Incidentally, there are a number of Lineas in my hometown Belgaum, but this would be the first Fox Trot Azure.

Also, would anyone have a sense if this is the same shade as the one in Volkswagen Jetta ?
vinay, congratulations on your booking of linea and good to see you are buying this car for your dad and yes rightly this colour suits them perfectly, looks subtle and cool.do start your ownership thread once you get its delivery.

Bhaskar seems to have running down his italian beauty after all those happened till now, where are you mate, pictures are screaming to appear here.

Sorry folks to keep you all waiting for so long. I was held up with some unavoidable & important stuff & was driving around (of course in my new FTA Linea) to get things sorted out.

Alright, where did I finish my last update? So my first day experience of owning the Linea was soaked in rain with mud & slush all over it. Pretty saddening but then the next day, when I woke up in the morning, the car cleaning guy had done his job pretty well - the beauty was glistening in the bright morning sun.

Since then I have driven the Italian beauty on the Noida-Greater Noida expressway almost each day regularly. Just completed 1000km of steady driving under 2500 RPM & between 85-90 kmph.

I have already answered about a dozen queries about the car to many strangers who seem to be mesmerized by its beauty & are drawn close - how much it costs, which variant is it , what features, what about service, how's the ride & comfort, why I didn't buy the City/Civic or any other car, which other cars are its direct competitors etc etc. Most people seem to be quite fascinated when they see the car; the older generation becomes nostalgic when they see the bright red FIAT logo & my 5 year old son, spoilt by the huge space in Scorpio, is evidently quite happy in Linea as well.

I must admit - it truly guarantees a lot of 'ADMIRATION'. I am enjoying every bit of it. Haven't seen any other FTA Linea on the road as yet, so mine stands out in the crowd. FTA neither has the flamboyance of the black or the red nor does it have the calmness of the whites, however its elegant & thought worthy in its own right. It's an amazing feeling to cherish but I know it is not going to last long.

The average fuel consumption has been around the 16 kmpl mark, seriously hope it rises. No niggling issues have surfaced so far, perhaps driving a Scorpio for the last 5 years has brought down my expectation levels for any car ! Blue & Me works as smoothly as hot knife in butter though I haven't yet tried to use the 'SMS Reader' function.

Accessories added -
- Universal transparent PVC foot mats complimenting the free OEM ones given FOC by dealer
- Sun Film : Garware Arctic Cool
- Reverse Sensors : Xenos; 2 sensors at rear with distance indicator; got them painted in (close to) FTA color
- Replaced the stock speakers with Components; both front & rear
- Universal Body cover
- Center arm rest (front & rear) covered in black leatherite stuff to avoid stain & sweat marks; no plans for any seat covers as off now

I clicked a few snaps here & there whenever I could find some time. So here is a compilation of all the pics that I have clicked until now. Enjoy ..

Nice pics bhaskarm. Which components (size, wattage etc.) you used and how much did they set you back? Did they involve making any changes to the wiring or taking any extra amp or the stock HU is able to manage those?

This Fiat really amazes me. One of the cars that I would love to see more on the road and its looks are amazing. Your color selection is unique as well. Good choice.

That's a lovely looking Linea. Congrats!
I was just wondering whether is that the maximum the rear window goes down? Doesn't it go down fully?

Thanks. You're right about the rear window. Remember the old ubiquitous FIAT aka Premier Padmini, some things never change.

Nice photos there!

Damn, saw these gleaming beauties at the factory in all the colors they offer, for a customer this can get really confusing because the car looks great in all the colors it is offered.

Thanks Mate!
The components were just plug & play - no change to the original wiring. The sound quality has improved but I'd still say - to the best of music loving ears, its still doesn't make a mark. There is that oomph that's still missing. So I am planning to get an amp & power the front speakers (at least) through it.

But, I will have to wait for the next upgrade ; too many other things up the value chain.

Bhaskar,

Heartiest Congratulations on your beauty!

The FTA colour looks different in different lighting conditions and your snaps have captured the best of those moments, good job!!

So do you think components made a difference over the stock speakers?

I will be getting my own FTA MJD on 27th Sept.
