Thanks GTO, Very informative review and a nice suggestion to upgrade from Safari to Fortuner. I worked out some details before the launch and would like share with you all, it may not be precise but will definetly help in taking the decision about Safari Upgarde. Even we can feel proud that our Indian SUV is also very capable. I heared some rumors of launch more powerful new Safari, which may worth waiting for instead of booking Fortuner now and getting delivery in Feb-march 10.

2500 units!!..HT has got it wrong..this way i would get my Fortuner by October end or early November and not end February as i have been told.

Lookout for a retraction in tomorrow's paper!

It is going to be some wait!..its only been 9 days two hours and thirty three minutes and it already seems too long after five years of expectation!

well..Que Sera Sera..

Brilliant review. Loved the way the video was shot. Totally professional.

Although the Dash board looks dated the overall fit and finish is superb. At 20.56 Lakhs on the road (Chennai), this ones an absolute winner.

Well done Toyota.

Anyone with a last name Kulkarni and interested in buying a Fortuner in Mumbai, contact me.
I have a booking that should mature by Sept. end, October 2009 and I am not interested in buying the car.
No premium or any crap ,since I am not in this business.
Have booked it with Shinrai and they said, I could transfer the booking as long as the last name is the same :-)
Let me know soon, else I plan to write them for a refund.

Sorry as the content is not formated properly, since I was not knowing the procedure for uploading an excel file.
Now I had converted it into a picture to make it readable.

This is the sweetest gesture. Thanks for offering, Ritesh, and I hope someone takes you up on this.

Indeed, its the price that makes the Fortuner a winner.

GTO , Refreshing reading. It takes a lot for someone to make me read an entire stretch of information at one go , but you have done it amazingly well.

Great to know that Toyota has made an error of some sort , am talking about the braking. Everything Toyota is generally perfect.
That being said I am sure this is going to add a lot more vehicles on our already congested roads due to the pricing factor.

looks like Sheet metal styling was heavily inspired from Toyota 4Runner.

at 22.18 lacs on road Bangalore even though is a killer deal. I feel any one buying a car in karnataka is being ripped off due to the exorbitant taxes.
well come on 2-3 lacs more expensive even though the factory is in Bangalore!!

You are absolutely correct. We were of the same opinion while we were on the Test Drive. It is definately on the lines of the 4Runner especially the rear end. It also reminds me of the old gen Nissan Pathfinder.

Superb review GTO. You are more professional in your reviews and you give us the real pros & cons of the vehicle (without any hype).

Fortuner has the smallest turning radius and largest full tank capacity which will be a boom in city and highway traveling without working for refueling.

Paying 2-3 Lakhs more in Bangalore is really robbery ! Is there a workaround to this ?
