Nairsab, good thread and great info all over this place. I pressed the lock and unlock buttons simultaneously for 4 mts and realised that is a way to numb your fingers !

I may have few things to add, but not very sure what is already mentioned over the pages by others. One thing I found out last week is about the boot open round button on the dash board. There are places (shopping malls, office complex etc.) where main gate security will check the underbody and boot before allowing you to enter. I could never figure out how to open the boot without switching off the engine. The other day I realised, your boot will open when the engine is ON, but when the door latch is in 'unlock' position.

Now I want to test and see if the front bonnet will open when the car is moving. The bonnet lever is on the passenger side, so what if your kid fiddles around with that lever ?

There are many detailed posts in my thread about Head lights upgrade, Tire upgrade, Alloys, ICE, Duster etc. So its tough to compile them into a single post. If members want to clarify anything that they dont find through search option, could ask here, so we know what another members wants to know.

So, we are proud Fiesta owners, inspiring each other and keeping the experience available to everyone.

That's a good find. Do you know if the remote lock will open the boot when the engine is ON? Irrespective of whether door latch is unlocked.

Remote lock will open the boot for sure, but again I dont think it will happen if the doors are in 'LOCK' position. I had opened the boot several times with the remote key button while sitting in the driver's seat in both engine ON and OFF positions. Since you asked specifically, I feel like checking it again.

more than finger pain or numbness, I was worried that, if we do this exercise continuously then one day the buttons may go inside -then ?

Bonnet opening while car is on move - will have to test it (this bonnet liver is the one thing I didnt like in this car). I think, initially Ford might have designed this car for other countries where they have left hand drive so the bonner release liver also fitted on the left side. When they re-designed the car for India, they moved steering wheel, instrument cluster, paddles etc to the right side but left out the boonet liver in the left side and now it has become a head-ache for indians?

Yeah, very same reason for turn indicators and wiper levers on opposite side as compared to other Indian cars.

5- No autolocking of doors when on move / at certain speed, like some other cars have. You have to do it manually. Depress the inside door handle (front doors either on the driver side or passenger side)and all 4 doors will be locked.

12- Seat Cover - Low variant cars comes with fabric seat cover. SXi and S comes with stock vinyl leather seat cover. Many of our members have changed the stock seatcovers. Those who have done this upgradation please provide your recommendations/costs etc for others reference (with a sub-heading)

20- Ford has got following accessories with Ford markings (Ford Accessories):

-Alloy Wheels
-Vinyl Leather Seats
-Rear Spoiler
-Body moulding with chrome line
-Door scuff
-Mud flops, Floor mat, boot mat etc
Nairrk,

Amazingly exhaustive information - best part is it is consolidated. This was much needed earlier.

Few of my observations:
  1. I got to know the autolocking feature can be programmed so that the car gets auto locked after the engine is started / reached a certain speed.
  2. A Limited Edition of 1.6 ZXi is around, open for booking till Nov 30 subject to stock availability. This one has the same vinyl leather seating which comes in the SXi for an additional differential price of Rs. 5000, which includes few other SXi features.
  3. Some more ford accessories:
    1. Ford neck rest and Pillow
    2. Air deflectors
  4. Per my understanding, in Bangalore, there is always a corporate discount which is Rs. 15000 for petrol and Rs 7000 for diesel Fiesta, irrespective of whether you fall into the corporate arena or not (need to ask for it though). Irony is you will get much more corp discount if you are really working in the corporate segment. For Ex. IBM - its 40000+.
I look forward to contribute more once i join the Fiesta Owners Group (still in hunting mode).

Mistake - all along I was typing Liver instead of Lever

When I took delivery of the car and was driving home (about 42 kms from showroom to my house). As per usual practise, I used to click on the right side lever thinking as turn indicator and only I could see the wiper starts moving. My wife who was sitting my side could not control laughing. Suddenly felt that I am driving a car for the first time. About 4/5 kms I was doing this mistake repeatedly. Thereafter this lever position change got registered in my head and since then no confusion.

-Autolocking : will have to check it , but nothing in the manual other than
the manual locking by depressing the door handle,as I mentioned above.

Have you seen anyone done this programming?

- You, still hunting? Unable take a decision even after seeing so many
fiestaians in the list - all of them are enjoying the car?

Since this is going to be all fiesta thread. Can we have some photos of seat covers which were used in Fiesta be uploaded to this thread, and with some information like make, Price & Place. We can also include alloy photos with similar details.

What say guys...???

I have not seen anybody doing this. But i got to know from T-BHP only, one member wrote "he has confirmed with ford dealer that this can be done". Will reconfirm it with the dealer.

Probably you are right - heart says Fiesta Mind says - lets take some more TD. Actually short listed are Fiesta, SX4, Linea and Manza. Hope to close this by this week end.

question to all the S owners...
do you guys prefer to use the stock seat covers or get some art leather material to cover up the seats ?

Reason for this ask: In the long run how much of a challenge is it to maintain the original fabric in case you choose not to have the additional covers...?
