Re: Another 1.6 Polo

Sent my car today for the FREE sumer camp checkup.
VW Gurgaon workshop was at its worst again!
The booking was done a day before and i had sent the car today morning with the driver. On the phone the SA again tried to fool me that he would put in more engine oil for about Rs500/- despite the fact he already overcharged me 5K for 5 litre engine oil during the routine car service 6 months ago! I made a strong point to him to not fool me again.
I understand its a free service and in todays time one cannot expect a car wash from outside or inside. But do they really have to dirty the car from inside!

How amazing it is to find you car in the evening after the supposedly service and see the doors all soiled up from inside, floor mats with mud on them, not even a paper-cover on the floor mats. VW gurgaon, if you don't bother to fix it atleast don't break it

Hi Ankit.

This workshop is in Sec-52 (Near Ardee City) or NH8 (Near Halidram)?

Did you try the other one ?

This is the Sec-52 one. I did hear about another workshop opening in gurgaon though i don't have their contact details.
Did you try out that workshop, its a bit far but if they are good enough i wouldn't mind taking my car there once a year for the service.

No, I did not try any of these.

I am planning to buy a Polo and if service centers of Gurgaon are that bad, it is a matter of concern.

Well there have been odd instances with this workshop, some i can pass but others are downright ridiculous!

-During my first service, i asked for little touch up to the front bumper scratches which was not done until 5 minutes before the car was handed and its inevitable the work was worse than a 5 yr old kid painting!

-My windshield cracked and i took it for replacement. I have to give it to them that they swiftly took the case and got the warranty formalities done without bothering me. Car was delivered on time but alas, the seats had huge huge green-colored grease marks on it. Completely unprofessional i say. I wonder how would a Passat owner react if his leather seat were greased and left like that!

-During the repairs for a front accident incident, again the insurance formalities were done without a hitch. But the car took forever to get ready. Until last moment they couldn't communicate about a broken sensor for the engine light (which costs 8300/- requiring me to fork out about 4k at the last moment!). Moreover they kept pestering me that i had voided my warranty by installing an amplifier, even though i made sure not a single OEM wire was cut during installation.

I visited the workshop almost daily to check on the repairs and told the SA atleast 3-4 times that i was not at all satisfied by the paint quality of the hood.
There are still unpainted edges and paint bubbles on the hood but i had to give up on it as the car was taking forever to get ready.

Also one of the mechanics told me that the car supposedly had many faults while the SA insisted everything was fine. On pestering him to exactly tell me, i was met with a rude grin saying thats not my job to tell you; go ask the SA. Thankfully the car is working flawless

-And finally this free sumer camp check landed me a dirty soiled up car.

The other workshop has opened recently and i do expect it to be working better since its new. VW; fantastic cars no doubt, but servicing has a long way to go.

That's really bad at VW Gurgaon's part.

Well, next time when you need service, I suggest you to go to the new service center on NH8.

These new service center's have less work load and they are more focused initially.

I have seen the same with Pearl Honda, when newly opened, were fantastic in comparison with Ring Road Honda. Now after 3-4 years, there service has also gone down.

But luckily, Pearl Honda opened another workshop near Ardee City few months with all new staff and they are very good, prompt and always trying to satisfy the customers.

Re: Another 1.6 Polo

I may be wrong here , but i think Ankit might have got the headlamps smoked from inside.
But who cares, they look classy on the white polo .

Bro just get these DRL fog lights

Re: Another 1.6 Polo

I am wondering what are they up to. The 1.6 by all accounts was a precursor to an AT version. Both VW units (VW & Skoda) have the 1.6 but to AT as yet. Are they chickening out!!

Yep, painstaking process of taking out the outer lens, followed by masking and paint to the inner casing and finally, resealing the headlamp unit again.

Ankit, some high resolution pictures please of those headlamps .

Also, if possible get some led for the parking lights, smoked headlamp with white leds on the parking light, will look killer.

Cheers.

Exactly my thoughts.
I'm using the Philips Ultinon LED 6000K.

It'd be an absolute stunner on you're ride
