The car was ready by evening, and everything felt ok with the car.
I managed to get the auto-lock (and other listed features on t-bhp) activated as well. The service cost was quite high though at 8600/-. I did opt for wheel balancing/tyre rotation. The bill didn't include interior dry cleaning but the car looked neat and clean from inside especially the seats so maybe they did do the cleaning.
I took some of the price lists on t-bhp for comparison, and definitely the spares/filters cost is way cheaper in Pune as compared to Delhi. On the other hand, the VW guys did quote me a price around 8500/- even at the time of booking the appointment, so i guess they weren't ripping me off. Will post the detail bill in the appropriate thread.

Vehicle feels great, with no problems whatsoever. Its been a very satisfying one year trouble-free ownership!

Mods: Please update the thread title to Update:1st Service done at 8000kms
I paid 10,202 for the same service on my Polo 1.6 without wheel balancing/tyre rotation. What he heck is going on Volkswagen?

To top it all, VW Downtown Bangalore hasn't given me a bill so I don't know what they have done. I have posted my experience in sadnabrina's thread.

Ouch! Ankit, it hurts to see that sort of damage. I had one (though not so severe, only denting, painting) and I know how it feels. I hope your car's back to shipshape ASAP.

Re: Another 1.6 Polo

Should i consider the Polo 1.6, instead of the diesel?
What is the aggregate mileage you get in city driving?
Also, if you could hightlight more on the GPS navigation and your complete ICE, i would be very grateful.

Re: Another 1.6 Polo

VW Frontier Autoworld Gurgaon Workshop Service Update: YES ITS COMPLETE BOLLOCKS!

So its been almost 3 weeks now and yes the car is still in their workshop. All the work was going satisfactory and the car had been repaired about a week back. I had to make occasional visits to sternly tell them when some corners of the hood and the bumper were not painted properly.
So i had been patiently waiting for the insurance formalities and one problem i had with the CAT-Con light showing in my speedo. I had told this to the MR. Bhupinder on day 1 and told him to see if this was a warranty case (as i believe the sensor is for the catalytic converter and so should be somewhere on the rear side of the vehicle). He assured me that it will be done.
So for the last 1 week, it was all about that sensor. Mr. Bhupinder's responses to my everyday calls:-
Sir, don't worry Main karwa doonga
Sir, ladke lage hain abhi report bana ke bhej denge
Sir, internet nahi chal raha
Sir, pehle ke 3-4 cases hain VW hasn't responded to them yet, your is waiting.
Sir, i think aapne car main koi extra wiwing karwaaie hai to shayad warranty will be void.
(No, wire has been cut/ new set of wires installed from DRIVEN for 2 speakers and amplifier)

Today Morning, i give him a call to finally pick up the car. His response was, sir mera kaam ho gaya hai, car is washed, painted and ready ; CAT-CON ka woh log dekh rahe hain!! I tell him to give me "woh logon" ka number.
I call Mr. Kaushik who tells me sir, your sensor is bent/damaged and we are actually unable to take it out from the silencer!! NO warranty possible!
I call Mr. Bhupinder, furious that why have not been told this earlier, if not in warranty, i can take it for insurance since its damaged because of the contact.

Mr. Bhupinder, sir aap mujhpe BLAME kar rahe hain, i can't help it if its not in warranty (plus excuses now that my warranty is void as i have put in some extra wires). Also that the sensor is not in the back of the car, its in the front and has been damaged due to the impact. Finally i am asked to pay 10k extra, sensor will be ordered and will probable take another week.

Finally had to talk with the manager, who has now put the insurance on hold and asking them to file this in insurance.

I have been hearing horror stories about VW as well on the forum but never believed in it. Having faced it now i am completely disgusted with it. VW going another Skoda

the HU is superb and sonn shall postn pictures. The bluetooth works fine with my ageing HTC hero.

the only thing now left out is to get the GPS going for which I require help from Ankit on how to confirgure the MMI or satguide.

Re: Another 1.6 Polo

Thought i update on the car.
I managed to finally take delivery of the vehicle last Saturday (been too busy to post lately).

Besides the horribly stained front seats and headlamps not properly focussed, everything else seems to be ok. I am just glad to finally get the car.
The workshop people did try to get my car ready asap after delays but i had to bear there rude behavior afterwards. I just hope the car has been repaired properly and no problems crop up in the future.

Re: Another 1.6 Polo

Hi Ankit,

I am picking up a Polo 1.6 next month. Am planning to pick up the same Witson set that you purchased. I sent them a mail and this is their reply regarding an updated version of the device.

----
Nice to know you are interested in our model W2-D9240V , for details you check this link:
http://www.witson.com/en/displayprod...roID=101304096

1. The price of W2-D9240V with GPS (no map included)+shipping cost by DHL (door to door service) is USD329.00 .
-----------

Just wanted to know details regarding customs. Where does this need to be paid? The reply from Witson Cust care indicates that it will be delivered to my home.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

DHL will pay for you(you don't need to tell them to pay, they'll pay automatically) & they'll collect the amount from you when they will come to your home/office to deliver either by cash/cheque.

The DHL guy will collect from you when they deliver the unit. They will even call you a day before to let you know the custom amount.

Btw, why this unit? Why not the one which Ankit (or me) got?

Thanks for the information Sids. I asked them for a quote on the same unit that Ankit and you have (W2-D723V). They unfortunately replied with details of the upgraded model.

Have sent them another mail for a quote on the W2-D723V model. They should reply by tomorrow.

What does the customs amount come to approximately?

Thanks for all your help.
