NJ's Second jump. This time he was successful.  JC clicking while NJ is jumping.  BolBolero is cooling his radiator/Engine while Discovery Bolero and Baby Alto is just proceeding. The real NH1 goes from Delhi to Wagah border via Ambala, Ludhiana, Jalandhar & Amritsar. At Jalandhar, as NH1 branches off to Amritsar, NH1A starts and goes via Pathankot, Jammu & Jawahar Tunnel to Srinagar. At SRinagar, NH1D starts and goes via Sonmarg, Zoji la, Dras & Kargil to Leh. Yes, after lumbering along in 20 kmph "roads" the road between Basgo & Nimmu is indeed a driver's pleasure, more than the high speeds, it helps confirm that the car is OK after the battering it took in the bad sections - accelerates well, attains top speeds, no unusual noises, no over-heating, suspension fine, alignment fine, etc. | |

| Re: HumbLeh'd II (Indo Polish Himalayan Expedition to Ladakh & Himachal Pradesh) my Car For The Ladakh Trip  Scorpio, 2.6 Turbo, 2005 Had run 2.78 lakh kms when it started off for Ladakh on its second visit there. Has the old-fashioned DI engine, no electronics. Faced no problems at all anywhere. Last time, it outperformed later-version Scorpios, probably because they had electronics. Belched lots of black smoke in Ladakh, perhaps because of low air and rich combustion mixture. Was loaded to the gills, but managed FE of 10 kmpl+ throughout. Never had to use the heater, remained cosy & warm. Suffered damage to its suspension & brakes Has been to almost every place in India, except some parts of the North East (which I did in my Matiz car) Has the distinction of having touched all the farthest most corners of India - Turtuk (North), Kanyakumari (South), Koteshwar (West) & Kibithu (East). |
