YetiBlog® - 26th December 2007

Wake up late, it's a lazy morning. We are in the pampa

Today we intend to go driving around the area, to Potterstein and into Gossweinstein. Potterstein has a famous church too.

The Corsa is frozen over as usual.

We cross a few farms on the way. Well everything is a farm actually, lol.

Driving through we come across a Mazda showroom. On this trip I have not taken many photos of cars, though I have seen many.
Car showrooms seems to exist in greater abundance than supermarkets. However the sight of a car showroom with no human being in sight is something I cannot resist.

Soon we are in Potterstein.

It's winter. The German population is low and has been declining for years now. People don't have kids.

The pictures that you see are a normal non-touristic scenario. This is how things are in smaller towns of Germany. Hence the need for automated lights, parking and everything else. There are no people, LBM and for an Indian person, this is the strangest thing to see.

Not the snow, not the cleanliness, but the complete lack of people.

This is a concern for me when TheOne® will finally see India for the first time in her life, next month.
The reaction of someone (who has been born and brought up in a similar small German countryside) who sees Mumbai for the first time. It will be interesting, to say the least.

A blog through the eyes of TheOne® on the above scenario would be highly interesting. Hope there is one to see.

Prepare her mentally, or it will come as a shock to her.

Nothing can ever prepare you for India. Nothing.

shock is inevitable. And of all places mumbai.

*shudder*

If I were in Sam's shoes I would have given up long ago .. everything stops when the dreaded sentence is dropped 'I want to visit India' .. it's just not possible to justify .. hands up and abject surrender only.

I like the pic of you with TheTwo.

Are you bringing them to India as well?

I think I might like life in a small German town!

Apart from the climate.

And the regimented lifestyle...

I have seen this in other european towns too, unless they are a tourist attraction like paris etc, they are empty during the business days.

It would be interesting and worthwhile to let TheOne® actually write her experience here in the travelogue.

Yaar our India is not that bad, It is just a little uncivilized and over populated with a little corruption and bad politicians along with bad roads and unplanned infrastructure.

I know it, but inbetween all that justifying for 'why is this like this' & 'why is that like that' .. what was once 'hot' might just turn 'cold'.

my deep fear.
