Shared this thread with my wife. And predictably, the Yeti has another fan.

Btw, whats the audio setup in the Corsa?

Also, yes. Also present at my next destination, Bad Nauheim.

JD however is admitted at the University Klinik. The hospital(s) of the university of Tuebingen. Actually it's Tübingen, but ü is non ascii.

He runs out behind me, yelling in German. It's not good for you to come out quickly. You have to wait for a few minutes before you go to the snow.

My eyes are burning, my private parts are burning, I am dying. And I am made to sit quietly. I can see TheOne® shaking with laughter but not laughing.
Sorry Sam but couldn't resist laughing & that too way loud. Infact I laughed out that loud that my colleagues started staring at me. I can surely say TheOne must have also laughed at that moment

YetiBlog® - 30th December 2007 - Bad Nauheim

We spend the day at Heilbronn. Post lunch it's time to pack up and leave this boring city. We're now going to Bad Nauheim.

Any German town with the name Bad as a prefix indicates that it is a healing town with medicinal baths. Bad means Bath.

Bad Nauheim is famous. Apart from being beautiful, old and unspoilt, it is where Roosevelt came for treatment, it is where Elvis lived for 2 years. It is also where the Brother Schumacher come ever so often for physiotherapy.

It's evening and we are walking. This is what TheOne® calls home. This is where she was born, studied and everything.

Hmm..

We find our little apartment and then go out for a few drinks.

Later we go to the restaurant Krone. This restaurant is hundreds or years old. Hard core old school. They are full and ready to turn us away. Luckily we get someone's cancelled table.

We have a truly wonderful meal.

Then we walk over to some friends and family for a pleasant round of chat and Red Wine.

Tomorrow is new years eve. I am to be very embarassed in public.

YetiBlog® - 31st December 2007 - New Years Eve

No matter how much I refuse, it seems I am to go Ice Skating. But I've never even Rollerbladed before! protests I. All to no avail.

I'm going to take pictures when you fall on your butt, she says gleefully. But this is not the clincher. The clincher is that I am to be surrounded by family and friends. No use protesting, soon I am at the rink. They will never have those shoes/skates my size. A patient but stubborn face. Your size is 45. They have upto 48. Dammit. Dastardly Germans.

NOOOOOO - I have to wear that???

Yup, they have every size alright.

The secret is to tie them tight, till you go blue in the face pulling. The shoes are hard and will not bend and you will not fall over. Your ankles get supported and therefore you can stand and walk. Kinda.

And soon I'm on the ice. This is not the kind of ice I am used to lol.

And it's horrid and terrifying for a long while.

Soon I ask for help. Everyone is being kind. Soon everyone is helping me and I am learning.

Everyone is trying very sweetly, trying not to laugh at my helplessness.

Soon with a little (read: a lot!) of help, I'm on my way. It's fun actually and I am giggling like a schoolgirl.

Later I do some slow solo rounds. I've got the hang of it. Some people are a bit disappointed I haven't fallen on my butt.

My ankles really hurt. Another experience to add in the Yeti's life. A boy from Bombay goes Ice Skating.

YetiBlog® - 31st December 2007 - New Years Eve 0 THE SUN COMES OUT!

Soon it's time for the rink to close. We change our shoes and come out to see the machine smooth out the ice.

We quickly leave. I want to walk in the park. The lake is still frozen, but it's thawing.

The penguin is what little kids hold on to when learning how to skate. It sort of helps you balance and makes sure you don't fall. It's quite cute to see.

My guess is that that adult is taking the penguin to his kid.
