No problem, she is not finding a suitable prey since the time I moved to Bangalore (to stuff food till mouth....sometimes I run away telling enough enough thinking my stomache would break ) . Infact when my dad was planting Rambutan I told him about Lalu's fruit orchard in Bangalore .

I presume the shacks will be there, Whenever I went, our favourite shacks were always functional.

@ laluks: Just wanted to say a warm thank you to you for this travelogue, which formed a good reference for our own trip which was done this month, partly covering this region. Your travelogue is tempting enough for us to plan to go back some day soon!

Life has been very hectic these days. So what happens when you burn yourself out - you crave to chill out. Where else than GOA?

Thus an impulsive trip to Goa happened on the last weekend. The trip was almost the third trip back to Goa in the last two years

We get connected to Goa just like that!

So here's the Trip 4 log, yes I know the other log is pending - that'll take some time :(

Civved : GOA (Baga, Chapora and Morjim) and AMBOLI Ghats

Trip 4

Impulsive trip to our favourite BAGA beach, GOA (Civved : BAGA)

Bangalore - Belgaum - Ponda - BAGA - Mapusa - Sawantwadi - Amboli - Belgaum - Bangalore.

1375Kms, 4 Days (07/10/2010 - 10/10/2010)

We've been through the following routes to Goa previously.

1) Haveri - Sirsi - Devimane Ghats - Karwar -Goa
2) Mangalore - Karwar - Goa
3) Shimoga - Jog - Goa
4) Yellapur - Ankola - Goa
5) Amboli - Sawantwadi - Goa...

We wanted to try another one this time, so the Londa Ponda route was selected. We wanted to return to Amboli, so that got selected as the return route.

Destination - BAGA, and our favourite Chapora fort and Morjim Beach.

Itinery - Eat as much seafood as possible and be in the sea or swimming pool.

Civvy needs a holiday too. So the idea is to Park Civvy at the resort, and get back to her only on the fourth day for return.

Here's a route map of the circuit we took this time - Belgaum to Belgaum

Civved : Goa, Yaana, Jog, Murdeshwar, Maravanthe, Mangalore...-fullscreen-capture-19102010-231750.jpg

From Ponda instead of heading to Panjim, I went to Verna. Civvy had some issues with her brakes and had to be shown at the Honda Service. Coastal Honda was at Verna.

Day 01, 07 October 2010
Bangalore - Belgaum - Londa - Ponda - Verna - Panjim - BAGA

As all other trips, we started early in the morning from Bangalore. Plan was to leave by 02:00AM and catch breakfast by 10:00 at GOA. But some chores the previous day, made me to catch up some more sleep till 03:00, and off by 03:30AM we started rolling.

An uneventful drive for 6 hours on the NH saw us in Belgaum by 09:30AM. We stopped at Sankam for breakfast. At Rs 100 per person, the breakfast spread is good.

While parking near Sankam, I've noticed that there's a whining sound from the front left brake pads. It's already done 57K Kms, and it was almost worn out. Called up Honda One to One and got the information that the nearest service centres are in Hubli and Goa. Both are nearly a 100Kms away. The damages would be inevitable, so decided to head on straight to Goa. Honda by then already had arranged an appointment with Coastal Honda, Goa. They called back to check when we would reach. Pleasant co-ordination.

After a heavy breakfast / brunch we rolled by 11:00AM. A pleasant beautiful road all the way till Ponda. Green and cool. Occassional rough patches here there, and the curves and narrow roads slows down you a bit. But the drive was good, and the route has lot of photographic opportunities.

Since the brake pad issues were in mind, did not stop by for pictures enroute and reached the Service station at Verna by 13:30.

We were welcomed, and Civvy taken directly for the replacements. Very nice set of people. The Service station is big, some multilevel infrastructure. We were shown the customer lounge. It was an amazing place and kids directly jumped to the play area, wifey picked up some coffee and started reading, and me caught up with the world after a long time through their free wifi.

By 15:30 Civvy was ready and we said good bye to the wonderful set of Honda guys and moved on to Panjim. Stopped by to see the traffic and crowd before taking on the bridge and proceeding to BAGA.

Eventually we reached BAGA by 18:00PM. We had taken a no frills Captain Lobo Beach Hide out for our stay. Has a pool, Baga beach is just 5 minutes walk, and has got a decent car park. Civvy comfortably parked, secured, we walked into our cottage/room.

Immediate freshening up, we were in BAGA beach for the evening. Spent almost 2 hours there before we returned for dinner at Colonia Santa Maria. Ambience was good, food was average. They do accept credit cards for a change.

Enjoyed a nice dinner till 23:30 and retired to bed.

@Star - The road conditions are OK. Belgaum to Ponda is patchy mostly and some potholes here there. The tree shadows make it little distracting. The other route is mostly good, except the curves on the ghats have some huge potholes.

After all the watersports and adrenaline rush we came back to the pool in the resort. The pool had only us and it helped us have some great family time together. We spend almost two hours in the pool.

By 15:00 we went to Colonia Santa Maria for lunch.

ANJUNA BEACH

Our first destination was Anjuna, enroute Chapora / Vagator. Anjuna beach is a rocky beach, and not much there except for the flee market on certain days.

Who says Goa don't have an Ohm beach? Anjuna from an angle looks like one.

. I wish I get some.
My RGB LED Screen is not yet calibrated properly. I am still using the default colour profiles. I need to do that soon. Probably that may be the reason for the brightness issue.

You are absolutely right. Goa never seizes to amaze.
But yesterday only I returned from Poovar. Poovar is simply out of this world! and for us now there seems to be tug of war. Poovar is small, Goa is incredibly vast. But both are places to chill out.

Lalu, again Goa? Oh! Man, Goa government should allow you subsidised accomodation being a frequesnt visitor. 20 bucks for tattoo is very reasonable, we haven't checked it thinking it would be costly!

. I wish!

They started with 200 and came down to 20 Some guys are arrogant, just ignore them. Some designs which are complex, might need some more payment. We took simple designs - dolphins and anchors!!

These are some fabric colours which stays for a few days. As long as it stays for our stay duration its fine for us.
