Who's running 16's here? The discussion was about 15's, 205/60 R15.

Iraghava, I think Souljah wanted to know if anyone is running 16".

Ajmat I think is running 16". LBM is 17"?

theFag is running 15" and so is mayank.

205/40-16 is way off. the right size is 205/50-16.

souljah, Iraghava (official Tbhp tyre dealer) should be able to help you out for the correct tyre size.

Souljah - I'm assuming you're talking about the Swift. Well LBM does run 17"s & apart from 6 blown tyres he's not had much problems with them!

The correct size for 16" would be:

205/50 R16
215/50 R16

But the ride will suffer, not to mention increased chances of tyre failure on our roads. I would suggest you stick to 205/60 or 195/60 R15's.

Any further queries?

P.S. Ajmat does run 16" but with 195/65 R16 tyres which is an incorrect upsize.

Your right, im curious regarding those running 16" (as we might be buying a swift in few weeks, still undecided)

Ok so my assumption of 40 profile was wrong.

6 Blown tyress ?? LBM your pockets must run deep.

Tyre Failure - Bursts, Bubbles etc ?

205/60 R16 - Wont this cause a lot of scraping/interference without the use of spacers or raising the ride?

195/65 - 65 Profile is way too thick to have on upsized rims. Wonder how ajmat sir is managing.

p.s : Im aware of the Tyre Dealer status but seems like he doesnt take to the name/post too well hehe.

Well you'll have to ask LBM for the size of his pockets!! BTW he runs 215/40 R17!

Yes that's correct. Also includes major cuts which are fatal for a tyre.

Read carefully son, I said 205/60 R15 not 16. 16 in that size would be very difficult to accomodate but might not be impossible. In 16 I suggested 205/50.

PM him for complete details.

I might have to reconsider the 16" then if 205/50 will turn out to be too treacharous. And with my budget I will only be able to afford 4tyres/rims.

I thought I saw another post where you took on someone who called you the tyre dealer. hhehe. My bad.

Hmmm then you might want to fit 205/50 & see how it works since that's going to be the best compromise between ride & looks. Sorry but the 205/55 is not right I messed up my calculations a bit.

No problem at all some people think i'm one but that's fine I don't mind it

P.S. What tyres you planning on getting? Maybe I can earn a commission there

They can't both be correct. 205/50 R16 would be a better bet, and besides, you're hardly going to be able to MOVE with 215 R16s on an 87 bhp car that weighs A TONNE!

185/70 R14 - RR - 307.3, Circ - 1930.82
205/50 R16 - RR - 305.7, Circ - 1920.77, Difference - (-) 10.05mm, -0.52%
215/50 R16 - RR - 310.7, Circ - 1952.18, DIfference - (+) 21.36mm, 1.11%

215 is borderline case but can be tried since the difference is too miniscule.

So what would the ideal performance config (speed/handling/grip) be :
* 195/60/r15 ?
* 205/55/r15 ?

16" is overkill? I guess like viper has pointed out the 205/50 R16 will be a more show, no go type upsize.

SOuljah - KP's pointed out the right size for you, have a very close friend who runs the same & is very happy. But mind you the ride is a bit stiff.

My tyre choices would vary from KP's & would be like this:
1. Energy XM/Pilot Preceda/Pilot Primacy
2. Potenza GIII
3. Yoko ES100

Actually I dont even know what car we are going to be buying. But incidentally a friend called earlier this morning wanted to upgrade the tyres on his VXI (about 1 year old). Not a performance type guy though..

ishaan what are your reasons for listing in that order (link me to an old post if you have allready stated your reason for preferences)
