Due to constant impacts on the suspension, the alignment gets screwed over a period of time. Sometimes it could get screwed within 100 kms and sometimes it wont get screwed even for 10,000 kms. It depends on your luck. However, prevention is better than cure.

So when you said Suspension alignment, did you mean the wheel alignment ? Or does the wheel alignment take care of setting the suspension also right ?

Just completed 15,000 Kms on A-drives for my santro. Still feel like new, haven't seen any change in tyre noise, road grip. Here is tread depth of all 5 tyres after 15,000 Kms.

Hello Folks,

I have A-Drives on my Palio MJD and I have completed 40k with them, the tyres have been wonderful all through out and I havent even had a single puncture all through out.

Though the tyres look as good as new even after 40k, but off-late I feel that the comfort level has started to go down.

For how long do you guys think the A-Drives should last?

Hi friends

I have 195/65/14 A Drives on my Swift Diesel. I want to shift over to Michelin XM1+ as i find the Yoko's to have high trye noise and very bumpy.

Can i fit the above mentioned size to my Honda City ZX?

The Honda has stock 175/65 R14. Can it be replaced with the A Drive 195/65/14 ?

Tyre noise is acceptable IMO. The Swift is a little bumpier by nature and this adds to the bumpiness. Go ahead with Michelin if you don't mind shelling the extra bucks. Definitely worth it.

My tyre dealor just told me that Michelin XM1+ does not come in 195/65/14.

I'm very unhappy with the Bumpiness and Road Noise of A Drive and want to change them.

Could you suggest me a trye in 195/65/14 which will give me the Softest/Best Ride Quality in my Swift DDis.

The DOT code is "YYY0210" - so this a tyre manufactured in the 2nd week of Jan 2010, right? What does "YYY" stand for?

0210 means 2nd week of 2010.

Also, A300 is different from Yoko A Drive. A 300 is cheaper than A drive. It seems to be a lot more silent(i am guessing that from the pattern) but may lose out on grip.

Finally chucked the JK tornados yesterday and got myself a set of Yoko A drives (185/70/14) from Madhu's. I have driven around about 50 km in stop-go conditions so far so I really have not been able to find out much about the cornering and high speed capabilities of this tyre, but am happy with my decision. I was really thrilled to see the JKs finally come off. So thrilled in fact that I forgot my laptop at the shop and zoomed off!
A big thanks to Nikhil for patiently answering the million stupid questions I asked him about tyres in general and the A drives in particular.

Just heard from the guy who bought my adventure that he has got a side wall damage on the A Drives. He went over a stone at night. :(

Looks like yesterday was a bad day for A Drives. A friend and fellow Tbhpian's Palio had a sidewall tear on his way to Hyderabad from Bangalore, this 'gift' was thanks to a big fat bolt which completely tore the sidewall.

@Nikhil: I don't know if its my eyes playing with me, but do A Drive form a profile such that they look 'less' wider than their actual size? I am saying this because my 175 Bridgestone S322's look only marginally less wider than a 185 Yoko A Drive. Since I was considering the 175 size A Drive for my Palio I was a bit worried about the tyre's looking thinner than they actually are.

Praful --- Some tyres are constructed that way. Also, remember that a tyre which has run 30,000 kms on your car will look wider due to the wear and also due to the fact that it has been bearing the weight of the car for a year or so which will make it look wider.

But some tyre manufacturers do no stick to exact dimensions and their tyres are a little wider or a little narrower than the size mentioned.

Ah yes I forgot that I was comparing a 5 year old tyre to a 1 year old tyre. Still am undecided between 175 or 185 for A Drive. I guess I will take an on the spot decision once I am going for it
