He is, however, looking at other options as well. Has anyone used Apollo Alnac 4G, Amazer 4G Life, Goodyear Assurance Duraplus or MRF ZV2Ks. How does these tyres compare with the Earth-1s?

He is a sedate driver, mainly driving in city conditions with very rare highway outings. So not looking for high performance tyres. A good balance of comfort, quality and affordability are the main criteria.

In addition, can someone recommend a good tyre shop in Trivandrum, please.
I would recommend Earth-1 based on my experience with my Ritz ZDi and based on your need!

Dad went ahead and got Goodyear assurance triplemax 2s, Mithun. He felt the additional cost for Earth-1s to be unnecessary. I have penned my experience of the purchase here. (Tyre Shop - Travancore Wheel Club (Trivandrum, Kerala))

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ritz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

My friend drives a Maruti Ritz VDI 2013. I found in this thread that Madhu's is the recommended tyre care place in Bangalore. But would anyone have a recommendation for a place he can buy the alloys from in Bangalore or Thrissur (Kerala)?

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ritz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

What's the going rate for XM2s nowadays? My 2010 Ritz is due for a change. She is riding on XM1s since day 1. Have run about 58k in them. Thread is not completely worn but tires will reach 10 years in August. So change is long over due. It is our city beater car with occasional highway action very rarely and that too not more than 100kms overall. I am tempted to go for cheaper options but once you experience XMs, don't think I can go back. BTW my Abarth Punto runs PS4s.

I replaced my Ritz's tires last Nov. At that time, each tire costed me 4800 in Gurugram . Don't know if the cost varies from location to location though.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ritz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Hello everyone, asking help for a friend here. His Ritz VDI has been initially running on 165/80R14 tires. He changed to 195/60R15 tires on Onyx alloys after about an year. These seemed to be the perfect upgrade when considering the fact that ZDI came shod with 185/70R14. When he initially upgraded the wheels, there was constant grazing of the fender edges with the tires. He went to a local garage that fitted some 'bush' to alleviate the problem. Even after this, the tires and fenders seem to graze against each other in situations where the vehicle was fully loaded. Now he is planning to change the worn out tires, so wondering on a permanent solution to the problem. Will opting for a slimmer tire alleviate the problem? From the looks of it, the alloys seem to have negative offset, though I'm not entirely sure. How can I be sure? Attaching pics for reference If that is the case, will going for a 185 section tire help? Or will he need to replace the alloys also?

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ritz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

My 2013 Ritz needs new shoes. I've been using the JK Vectra that came along with the car, but after 48K kms, and multiple punctures I think it's time to change. Heading to Madhus today evening. On the phone I was suggested Bridgestone EP150 and MRF ZLX. However, Yokohoma Earth seems to be quite popular on the forum. The car does 75:25 City-Highway run. So do suggest folks what would be a good choice.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ritz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

For city driving the ZLX's would be fine, they give good ride quality. For highway use the Earth-1s or Continental CC5's would be a good choice, the CC5's being comparable in performance to the Michelin XM2s.

At Madhus right now. Going for CC5. They're doing a damn good job. Thanks for the recommendation.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ritz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Hello All, my 2013 Ritz VDi has run almost 50k and is due for a new set of tyres. I am an avid reader of Team BHP and read all of this 28 page thread but still could not understand why do people recommend 185/70R14 over 195/70R14. As you can see from the attached picture, 195/70R14 will help increase both the grip and ground clearance. Besides the difference in dia is still <2% which I understand is the acceptable limit. The only limitation that I can think of is the stock rims may not be able to accommodate 195mm width. Many people have said they are using 195/60R15 so that tells me the wheel wells should be able to accommodate 195mm width too. My car currently runs on the stock 165/80R14 rims. Please advise which one should I for-185/70R14 or 195/70R14. If 195mm won't fit the stock rims, is it okay to replace these with Baleno's R15 stock rims which are easily available on OLX. I am not particular about looks so don't want to spend on alloys. Just want something that adds real value- extra dia and width.

Got it for 5k a piece. Feels nice, but the car hasn't clocked any miles for me to comment on it due to the lockdown.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ritz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Hi all,
I am looking for an alloy wheel upgrade for my Ritz VDI, which currently has steel wheels.

My query is , will 16 inchers fit, Something like that from the Brezza? Or is staying under 15 inches the better option?

Currently, I eye the ones seen on the Ignis, pic for reference 👇

I'm running with 195/55R16, ride is bit harsh. I would suggest going with a 15" for balanced Ride & handling.
