Re: Upgrading wheels/tyres on Santro

Hi all,
Need a suggestion.

Have recently bought a used Santro Xing for local errands and as a spare car.
The tyres are currently due for replacement.
And planning to go for tubeless tyres.

So here are my questions,
1. Will the i10 rims fit santro?
2. Incase i10 rim fits santro, should I go for 155/70-R13 stock size or upsize to 165/65-R13 tyres?
(Few friends said 165s on 4J or 4B rims are a tight fit)

Note:
1. Santro has stock rims(13" 4J) and stock tyre size(155/70-R13) tube type.

2. i10 stock rim is 13" 4B and came with 155/80-R13.

3. I have full set of i10 rims and wheel caps from my i10 sportz in good condition and less used.

Thanks in advance.

Hi all,
Didn't receive much inputs on my previous purchase.

But I am back again
Have booked a pre-owned new gen santro 2019 for my wife, to replace her Santro Xing.
This car too might need change of tyres soon.

The default size is 165/70 R14.
1) So what's the best upsize for this ? 175/65 R14 or 185/60 R14?

I know 185s are a bit of overkill for 1.1 lts santro.
Just keeping it as an option. Mostly considering 175s section.

Also,
2) Does the upsize touch the inner fenders or cause any problem during full load?
3) What's the PCD of OEM rims? Are erstwhile i20s 14 inch rims and santro 14 inch are same?

Kindly suggest and help me in deciding.

Thanks in advance.

PS: Mods, kindly move this to relevant (new santro)thread if exists.Thank you

Hi,
Sorry for the delayed response.

Nope, I haven't done the upgrade yet. Was struck with some work, and tyre change plan took the backseat.

The plan is still on, and haven't decided on proper tyre size yet.

Do let us know incase if you were able to find the right replacement.

Thank you.

I need to get it done before monsoon kicks in. Current Bridgestone Tyres have already done 55k and need replacement. I am looking at moving towards 15 inchs with new alloys but final decision would require financial approval from home ministry

Re: Upgrading wheels/tyres on Santro

Hello! My father's Santro Sportz AMT 2019 model needs its tyres replaced. This is the first time it'd be done, so I have no clue about choosing the right one. Would upsizing be better? If so, what should be the ideal size? Which brand would be better? Thanks.
