A very nice and complete Fiat Super select which was brought down to a scrapyard here, the only things missing are the meters and the wheelcaps! I spotted the car near that area on a sunday, and when i managed to contact the guy on monday, the car had been scrapped!!

I can even see the original(?) seat covers on this car. wonder why they scrapped it though!! really heartbreaking to see good cars being scrapped!

Actually, it looks like a select.
And there are quite a few more items missing- mainly the side & bonnet trims, no trims under the windscreens, plus the tail-lights and no.plate lights as well. But still definitely restorable. Pity!

I doubt the seat covers are original. But nice touch!
Are the seats still around??

And you're the second person I've met on this forum who actually wonders why they scrap cars like these, regardless of the condition!

Another very neat restorable car gone. Sigh.

Can any of the parts be salvaged? Grille, bumpers, handles, badges etc. Amol is desperately looking for outer aluminium handles.

The seat covers definitely aren't original, but a very cool period touch.

Spotted within Jayamanahal Palace Bangalore

I spotted this rusting beauty within the grounds of the Jayamahal Palace Hotel in Bangalore. On the dirt track leading to the HP gas dealer (explains were I was coming from) inside the hotel compound (Opposite to the North Side entrance of the Bangalore Cantonment Station).

Any idea which one it is/was?

Appears to be a 49 DeSoto wagon. Any brave soul want to take up this project?

JayD shocked to know that the Fiat KLQ 3142 is scrapped. At such times one feels helpless.
thats right Karl this is a DeSoto Suburban Station Wagon of 1949-50. Here is a woody, 4 door clean example of this car from 1950.Its a 112 bhp, 236.6 cu. in., L-head in-line 6-cylinder, three-speed semi-automatic transmission, coil spring independent front suspension, semi-elliptic rear leaf springs with live rear axle, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes.Gorgeous looks with the gleaming chrome-work.

Buddy, that grille looks beautiful, one of the best I've seen. Any chance of getting it ? Someone could use it, if not on a car, I would definitely hang it in my room.

Okie guys, here's one more for the fiat lovers. A nice '55 rusting away, the car seems restorable to me. The guy said its not for sale, but was thinking about contacting the owner directly. Is it worth it guys??
