'came to know of this sad stanher mk1 from suren, who'd first spotted her yesterday.

Rust In Pieces... Pics of Disintegrating Classic & Vintage Cars-junkbeg.jpg

This car's rotting away in what was once the compound of a nice old bungalow (partly seen on the right), which is to be demolished soon for the road-widening. Hence the house lies vacant, could've possibly been sold. Sorry for the lousy pic. but had to take a sneak pic. to avoid drawing too much attention!
Incidentally, my mech. who was travelling with me at the time said he'd been seeing this car for the last year or 2! Only then it had been parked along the compound wall (now demolished) of the house, and was in a comparitively better state then. IMHO it hasn't gone too bad to salvage even now...
Unfortunately, tried asking the details of the house owners nearby but got no positive answer yet...will try again. It looks like it was a very original, complete car (could've been even a 1-owner car!) before it reached this state! That front grille and bumper look so straight- seen very few heralds like that!

This reminded me completely of a pristine Hillman Minx that had fallen victim to an exactly identical situation, posted by Karl once:

Luckily that car was salvaged in time! I just hope the workers in this case don't take too much of this car and turn into a storehouse as well in the meantime!
And I also hope I (or someone!) could do something about it before the municipality notices it while demolishing the house, in which case they'll simply scrap the car!

Okay, here's another one for the fiat wallahs! This Millecento is just rusting away, It has all of the original fittings like meters, switches, wheelcaps intact. There is no work getting done on it, and its not for sale! Sad!!! I've got a pic of the interior, lemme search for it.

Question?
I noticed that the embossed "Fiat" in caps was painted red, was this standard or a bit glitz?
Had a collector tell me he had set of this old Fiat hub caps in stainless steel or possibly chrome.
Appreciate any comments,

I think the red centre was just a popular trend locally, never came factory. I have seen a few brand new unfitted pieces, no paint in the centre. This style of wheelcap came in aluminium as well as stainless steel.

Ill take whats left over thank you!

What a fantastic bodyline, and what a shame that its lying like this. It is absolutely insane to leave those wheelcaps on the car in that state, that too ones with no hole in the centre. Insane I tell you!

My god....What a shame that Fiat is. Here people are searching for a dukkar, and there people are just letting theirs rust away.

I think the first car is a late 30s Morris 8 hardtop, relatively very stylish, and fairly uncommon. Any more pics of that?
