No guys its not worth it. The car will take in a lot of money, Harit has already elaborated. The interiors are not in good nick, excep tthe dash. The console is manufactured to fit in an a/c and the door panels are horribly unreal with a Victorian stitch type of a design. For a parts car yes (if it had te original mechanicals of only for the pattis etc) not for anything else.

BehramBhai, my car was not green but very close to the colour which Amol has done on his Dukkar Fiat. It was owned by Mr.Ishtiaq Nagri, nephew of Mr. Abbas Jasdanwala. Maybe previously owned by mr Kotwal, i am not aware.

Well, coming back to your Triumph, I used to see this car parked in your compound for many years. Further, I wonder what happened to Nazir Hoosein's green Triumph (MHY something), the one in which he, "Chubi" (Mohinder) Lalwani (Renuka Kripalani's father) and the late, very senior and very respected Suresh Naik won the Teheran to Dacca rally. Folklore has it that they had welded a screwdriver in place of the gear lever when it broke.
Mr. Hussien's triumph i saw last standing at a parking, covered at his offfice at Liberty Building, with roll cage et all and Mags.

Perhaps Harit " Uncle" can elaborate.
HArit Uncle will be probably a year or two younger if not exactly your age BEhrambhai, I would love to see his reaction to you or me calling him "Uncle"

He is the same fellow who entered the 1983 MASA rally with Mr.Minoo Nanavaty as his navigator in his Fiat. His rally number was 13, mine was 14. I overtook him 3 kms into the first special stage after starting one minute behind him. THOSE WERE THE DAYS! LET'S ORGANISE A RALLY FOR FIATS ONLY, SHALL WE? I'LL TAKE PART. Sigh! Best regards,

Behram Dhabhar

1960 Chevrolet Biscayne

This is a 1960 Chevrolet Biscayne with what looks like, the original paint scheme. Roman Red and Ermine White -- a popular color combination.

The body does not look rusted too bad for a 49 year old car.

I have a bad feeling whenever i see these horrid monstrous fog lamps. Its uncanny that most cars that adorn fogs like these are dieselised....please tell me this 1960 Biscayne still has its straight 6/V8. Please please!!

No Clue V16, I just came out of the palace (tour) and noticed this right outside. My uncanny feeling is this is probably a (ex) royal ONE!!

Well, If you any bhpians near Tanjore (Tanjavur, 60Kms from Tricy, about 100Kms from Velankanni, ~200 from Pondicherry) - you can find the answer to the engine part.

The 1960 Chevrolet Biscayne had the following four fancily named choices of engine.
  1. 135 bhp Hi-Thrift 6 with hydraulic valve lifters and automatic choke.
  2. 230 bhp Super Turbo-fire V8.
  3. 250 bhp Turbo-thrust V8.
  4. 280 bhp Super Turbo-thrust V8.
These engines could be mated to one of five transmissions:
  1. Turboglide automatic transmission
  2. Powerglide automatic transmission
  3. 4-speed synchromesh manual gearbox
  4. 3-speed synchromesh manual gearbox
  5. 3-speed manual gearbox with overdrive
It came with coil springs on all four wheels and recirculating ball-race steering.
The chassis was a safety-girder X-built frame. The ultra-firm X-frame chassis which continued at least until 1963, is a subject of much discussion and makes this Chevrolet especially attractive for east LA Latino low-rider modification.
The use of plated aluminium trims ensured lifelong rust free appearance.
