Fortunately or unfortunately, yes, we always can!
I did get a reply from one tbhpian who is interested in buying the car though. I wasn't yet told the price quoted, need to find that out.

Bad news!!

In case anyone's interested, I've heard about a black Fiat Super-select with a WBB (calcutta I presume) regn. that's come to the local scrapyard. My mech. just called me up and said the car is 90% original; from his description, sounds like good enough. I'm told the scrap guy has the RC too.
Well, much as we hate to hear this, unfortunately it didn't work out!

'turns out the last owner of the car (a police official) who would've bought the car at Calcutta and then moved to hyd., didn't have the papers of the car in order, or maybe there was some ownership dispute over it. So he himself decided to sell the car as scrap, giving a written declaration. It was first bought by a scrapguy in another place I know of, then sold to this guy who brought it to this yard to be broken. I tried to get the contact of the ex-owner by speaking to the other scrapguy but he flatly refused saying that he had specific orders from the owners to scrap it and not resell it to anyone, so contacting the owner too would be of no use.

So I'm afraid had to let this go!
Incidentally, fellow tbhpian shiva (Cyberdoctorind) had taken a few parts off it today, plus manish had given me a list of what he wanted too. Now the car gets broken on Tuesday, so will be going there then to salvage as many parts as I can from it.
A real shame considering that this is quite a complete and decent car!
But then.....that's life I guess!

Pics. of said car uploaded here:

R.I.P, WBB!

Sorry to inform you but yes that is the same car!!!! The biggest problem in my residential complex is of parking. I currently have three car's and I am planing to buy one more and I have only two reserved parking in my name. There is no parking space available in my building now. That's the only reason for selling my car.

Hi liked the way you have kept the car. what is the price you are expecting. The front seat did not look original.

Saw a 1964 Italian LHD Fiat 1100 Delite with such a front seat configuration. This configuration was used by PAL for the Padmini since the 1980's in the DELUXE BU (BU for Bucket seats). The other variants are well known- Economy (would be available only at times), Standard and DELUXE BE. The BU used to be the costliest.

Guys I found a '75 Oldsmobile Delta in Chennai covered on the side of a road in Chennai last night. On asking the watchman I was told it is for sale. Anyone know anything about this Oldsmobile?
