Sorry, but it is the same pump. Look at that spire on the canopy.
My bad was that I mixed up the Campa Cola lane and this lane which emerges opposite Kakad Chambers after Poddar Hospital and College.

Therefore, the location is correct, the rear lane was wrongly identified. Both have a pump at their respective entries.

This is another picture of marine Drive, there have been period photos taken before, but this is a different one with a lot of people, some event must have been going on near by. There was no Wankhede Stadium then.

Most Mumbaikars (and Bombayites!) would have seen enough of Churchgate railway station to point out that this is actually the Western Railway Headquarters (earlier BB&CI Railway Headquarters) located alongside the railway station. Can't ID the car though.

Attached is a pic that has been hanging in my dad's house. I am guessing that is a Model T.

Another photo taken from almost exactly the same "window" as Harit's picture. Maybe a few years earlier!

Here is another one from Bombay

This is my dad's first car. This was in Tanzania (Africa) during late 1970's. I know it is a Beetle, but can experts provide more info on the model and other details of this car. I have few more snaps I need to dig out.

Ironically, this was the only car my dad bought. He returned to India in the early 80's and was never in a position to buy another car. He was quite happy when I bought a Volkswagen car. Brought back fond memories of this one.

Note the later style wheels and hubcaps but the earlier style headlights - I think this was unique to the transition 66 model year cars. Subject to correction.

On an empty Sunday morning it still looks more or less the same. Of course the black statue has long since been shifted, today I read that they are planning to re-install something similar there.

Lovely photo. A rare 1946 Chevrolet fleetmaster and a 1949 Chevrolet Fleetline. This is one excellent way to preserve these historical pieces.

Please note the street light pole,it has gas charged lantern type light fixture. A BEST man used to come with a lighter and a bamboo to ignite it in the evening, and extinguish it in the morning.
