Talk about the blind fan following for anything labeled Swift and DDiS. That's insane resale value.

I have sold 2 cars till date. Incidentally, both of them opels.
Car: 1997 Opel Astra. 1.6
Running: 180000 kms
Condition: between good and average. The car had seen its share of wear and tear for being a Mumbai car with the weather and rain. Everything was working well apart from the ac. We were getting about 8 kmpl.
My mom used to drive the car mostly, but average daily running had reduced towards the end.
No. Of owners: we were the third owner. Bought the car from a friend for 1 lac. We had the car for about 5 years.
Sold the car for 35000 to an individual. Looked like he was buying his first car.

Car: 2005 Opel corsa. 1.6
Running: 85000 kms
Condition: good.
This was officially, my first car. Bought it from my savings after I began working. She drove like a dream. But that was when I wasnt spending more hard earned money to keep her that way. That was the main and probably only reason I decided to sell after 1.5 years with her. I used to drive about 300 kms in a week. I used to get 10.5 kmpl
No. Of owners: I was the third owner again and bought her from the same friend for 1 lac as well.
Sold her for 65000 after a lot of hard work to find a buyer. It again looked like a guy buying his first car.

Re: What was your car's actual resale?

Car: 2005 Maruti Alto LX
KMs on Odo: 54k
Condition of car: Very good to excellent. New battery, new clutch. Tires in need of replacement though.
Sold to: Maruti Truvalue thru Bimal.
Sold for: Rs. 1.31 Lakh.
City: Bangalore

Very good experience with Truevalue, despite some initial misgivings due to adverse reviews by some members. One call and one short test drive was all it took. Good resale price for the old girl + I didn't have to deal with individual buyers along with attendant incoveniences. Fare thee well, old faithful!
