Dealer & City : Thane Volkswagen
Freebies : Mud Flaps, Matting
Price: OTR: 4.85 L (After corporate discount, Free Insurance, Exhange Bonus of 15K), Further could take accessories worth 13000 free so opted for Fog Lamps by further paying 2000 (Cost of Fog Lamps 15K).

I know its on higher side but there are hardly any accessories I could buy from them. I wanted to put my own ICE so did not opt for thiers. This is the reason I opted for Trendline. And paying 60K extra for Comfortline does not make sense beacuase only difference is Body colours handles and OVRMs, Driver height adjustable seat, Parcel tray and real seat 60:40.
Congrats! Did you know about the current offers for petrol Polo? I read and also heard an advt on radio that VW is offering benefits upto 45k on petrol Polo. So may be, you can have another round of discussions with the dealer.

re: The "I Booked my Car" Thread

Make : Maruti
Model : A star AT
Variant : VXI Automatic
Fuel : Petrol
Booking Date : August 6st, 2011
Color : Silver
Expected Delivery Date : 07 Sept 2011
Dealer & City : ABT Guindy Chennai
Freebies : Did not discuss
Price: Exshowroom 4.44 + Insurance 13744 + Reg charges 56846 = OTR 5.15

I paid 5000 as booking amount by cheque, did not discuss about Freebies or any other discount.

I remember seeing & hearing about a 25000 rs corporate discount.

I have a couple of queries:

1) What is the best deal on freebies for A star @ ABT Chennai

2) Which is the best Finance organization to takr a loan from & on what terms.

Welcome to the forum @eagleeye and congratulations on the Figo. I think the dealer is one of the oldest Ford dealer and has quite a good name.

What about the Insurance? Are you taking it on your own?

Thank you friend.
The original insurance quote was 21k (ICICI Lombard), but with some help from policybazaar I asked for a re-quote and got one for 17k (New India Assurance). The sales guy clearly told me that they have margin in the insurance component and it would be difficult to reduce further.
The cheapest I could find is Sundaram, @ 13600 bucks. What would you advice me to do? Should I fight and get my own insurance and save lots?

Royal Sundaram is perfect. I have one for my car presently. Do think about the zero depreciation option esp since its a new car. A really helpful feature, may put you back by addtional amount but its worth it. Visit their website and have a look at the policy document before getting one. All the best.

Congratulations Arup, finally you took the plunge. You have booked a great car and bold enough to go for a petrol car in these days. Will be waiting for your ownership thread with lots of pics.
Did you get the extended warranty for one year as a freebie?

Congrats Arup! Glad to see that you finally booked it. And seems like you got a great deal too! A question about the accessories - is the 15K you mentioned for the freebies or did you buy other accessories? Could you list those accessories you bought?

Great! This is worth 10,200 on its own. Great deal indeed.

15k discount I got for buying some accessories from Honda. Would reveal the list of accessories when I release my thread. Just keeping something under wraps for a surprise later.

Extended warranty for 2 years I think is around 6,200 AFAIK. Doubt dealer would have obliged had it been 12k.
