1,508 MG Hector SUVs sold in first month

MG Motor has announced that it has retailed 1,508 units of the Hector in July 2019.

MG claims that it has received 28,000 bookings for the Hector since June 4, 2019. The carmaker has since stopped accepting bookings for the car. In order to meet the demand, it plans to increase its manufacturing facility's production capacity to 3,000 units per month by September 2019.

The MG Hector was launched in India on June 27, 2019. It is available in four variants and is priced from Rs. 12.18 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The MG Hector is powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 141 BHP and 250 Nm and a 2.0-litre diesel with 168 BHP and 350 Nm of torque. It is also available in a petrol hybrid variant, which uses a 48-volt lithium-ion battery that provides an additional 20 Nm of torque when required. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and 6-speed dual-clutch automatic.
